School board tonight

I did get that working draft of a contract up for discussion tonight before the Little Rock School Board for interim superintendent Linda Watson. Lawyers warn that it's a document mostly pegged to the document that covered outgoing Supt. Roy Brooks and could change in many respects. As now written, it provides for $198,000 pay, a $916 monthly car allowance, a $25,000 annuity payment, health coverage, an expense account and promise of a job as associate superintendent if someone else ultimately is hired as permanent superintendent. But, again, that these terms appear in the document does not necessarily mean those are the terms that will be voted on.

Cheapskates.

What kind of bare-bones transportation can you get for a measly $916 per month?

Our teachers would be sooooo embaraased to be seen in such a clap-trap vehicle. . .

DK!
If it takes $916 for car expenses, then, there is probably about $416 left to pay for gas, car washes, whatever/ per month. If the District chooses to continue the practice of car/expenses, then the receipts should be audited? Don't ya think?

Curious:
Since she also gets an expense account, is that where the gas and repairs get buried so the $916 is just the car payment? If that's the case, she can add some shiny chrome wheels, spinners and a whompin' stereo to impress the students with.

DK,
The last statement should read: If that's the case, she can add some shiny chrome wheels, spinners and a whomping stereo with which she could impress the students.
Wow! I learned something from LRSD! Nowadays grammar and spelling are missing from elementary classrooms in LRSD. No textbooks and no teaching. (sentence fragment)
In my humble opinion, the teachers in a district should make more money than the super. At least, they deserve combat pay.
