Scratch one potential candidate
If County Judge Buddy Villines doesn't seek re-election next year -- we reported yesterday that he said he was leaning in that direction -- you can scratch Debra Buckner's name from the list of potential candidates. She says she plans to seek re-election as county treasurer.

Gosh, we would be even luckier if Ms. Buckner decided not to run for re-election as county treasurer!!!!!!!!! Fingers crossed.

Are you kidding me? You must have been swooped up in the crackdown on people not paying their taxes. She's the best county treasurer ever in my book since she went after tax deadbeats.

Ladymerle is currently working on her resume. My guess is she won't be posting about County Government Activites in Jan '09. If not sooner.

I hear Joan Adcock is looking for a new gig now that the LR mayor has real power. She is not one for sharing.

State Auditor Jim Wood is a good guy and would make an awesome County Judge. After all, he would have instant access at so many levels of state, county, and local government. He's honest and has been a dilligent friend of the taxpayer. Most of all, the County's money would be in safe hands with him protecting it.

What ever happened to the file Jegley opened up on Aunt Joan regarding Hwy 10 votes and her voting on city grants to the charity that paid her salary once her baby shoppe closed? If she gets to be county judge, he can order some new file folders, he'll need them.

You know Buddy is in trouble when Drew Pritt calls into question his financial leadership.

Yes, Jim Wood is a Pulaski County resident if that annexation of Newport went through last week as promised.

Wood moved to NLR when he was elected Auditor. Bet he even voted for the ballpark tax. Maybe he could help Mayor Hays find a solution to the high electric rates.

Hey Sport McGillicutty I didn't question Buddy Villine's financial leadership. I touted the strengths of Jim Wood. I would kindly ask that you not put words into my mouth.

I'm not surprised that Buddy has health problems. He is in horrible shape physically and the only time I don't see him w/a cigarette in his mouth is in church. I like him a lot but Jack LaLaine he is not.
