Service interruption

An attempt to hack our server shut down our firewall this afternoon. Or so I'm told. I hope we're back in business. Sorry for the delay.

Comments

Hack? Wonder what their mission was? Bogus article posting? Blogger ID stalking?

Is this the work of the RNC? Or the Ark Fam Council? Or perhaps President Cheney and VP Karl Rove celebrating Rove's refusal to testify before Congress tomorrow?

Let's review...Gonzales doesn't know a damn thing about any funny business. Rummy said today he didn't know a damn thing about any funny business. We have more domestic spy programs than Sweet Sweet Connie has notches on her headboard.

I've taken a vote at my house and we vote that America is OVER and offer up 5 bucks prize money for the New Name For This Country Contest.

We're also offering up 5 bucks for the best new name for Washington, DC, since it now has more in common with Lenin than with George Washington. My first suggestion is Cheneyville, DC. Do I hear any others?

Perhaps it's someone who is frustrated with having to sign in everytime in spite of checking the two week freebie.

Well, we can rule out the Young Republicans. See, it's cuz they ain't that clever, yuh understand?

I like it Dbi.

.....................NAME THAT COUNTRY........

Who would be host? Tony Snow? Crispy Matthews? Maureen Dowd?

Is this basically an open line? Good. Here's something in light of the skateboarders vs. police in Hot Springs. Go Conway! Click blue name - does require registration, but free service.

sounds like i need to go over to conway and do some vert grinding or whatever they are talking about. work on my skateboarding and impress the kids.

Just part of the same plot!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070802/ap_on_re_us/minnesota_bridge_collapse_16

"MINNEAPOLIS - The entire span of an interstate bridge collapsed into the Mississippi River during evening rush hour Wednesday, sending vehicles, tons of concrete and twisted metal crashing into the water.

The Interstate 35W bridge, which stretches between Minneapolis and St. Paul, was in the midst of being repaired when it broke into several huge sections. The Homeland Security Department had received no indications Wednesday night that the collapse was related to an act of terrorism . . ."

Cheney/Bush'll send the repair company and the DOT people in charge to Guantanamo and sweat the truth out of them? They could be Al-Qaeda subverted terrorists! That will probably uncover the AT Blog hack too, but they'll just file it away for CCRRR's to use in the future.

Shoot!

I was hoping that the service interruption was so that the Arkansas Blog could change to a more readable font.

This is now the worst of all the sites I go to. I like the new look in general, but it is an effort to read.

Why can't it be like it was before?

Dear President Cheney and Halliburton,
Could you please come whop a no-bid in Minneapolis for a new bridge. The people there, they be suffering. While Iraq gets 14 new billion dollar permanent military bases, Saddam got a 500 million dollar court house to be tried in and they're paving the road to the Baghdad Airport with real 100 dollar bills, some folks back home need your help. If you need dead people in order to feel good about spending a billion dollars, they're pulling the dead out of the Mississippi river right now. Just pretend they got whacked by a car bomb.

It's been almost 5 years and America is falling apart. We need things to stand up here before they fall down. We need Halliburton stealing taxpayer money here, so they won't have to steal it over there. And President Cheney, don't worry none, Minneapolis doesn't have many black people, so a new bridge won't be a big waste like those new levies in New Orleans.

Please President Cheney, help those people. I'm an old softy and the sight of people crying gets me all upset, even if they're Yankees. Thanks in advance for pulling Bush's strings and making him pretend to give a damn about Minneapolis and everything else. SINcerely, DBI

I'm sorry to hear you got hacked - but not totally surprised. Some apparent security issues have been pointed out here, as recently as a few days ago.

You could request a copy of yesterday's server log files and get an independent interpretation to verify that your service providers are giving an accurate explanation about what happened.

Yeah DBI...and tell President Cheney that spending our treasure to 'fight em over there so we'll be safe here' ain't gonna save us from collapsing bridges or help in the aftermath of hurricanes/tornadoes.

Many more years like that last six and our infrastructure will look like Iraq's...billions spent, every thing's broke and no one is responsible...except Bill Clinton.

I love the comments at the end of the Conway story, liberal and proud (usually my favorite part of the LCD). It seems the LCD gang got tired of the grammar police...ha.

Polecat, if you want to force your own font, get Firefox and specify the font you want by going to Options, Content, Advanced and uncheck "allow pages to choose their own font..." . That way you can specify what type of font and size you are happy with. That is for those with eyesight problems, so they can make all websites adjust to their needs.

Thanks for alerting me that it was my fault all along. And thanks for the nonsense advice. I will check out Firefly shortly.

And FYI, I will never "force" anything on you or anyone else.
