I'm beginning to wonder how I go week after week, month after month NOT beating people up, stealing stuff, cheating old people, running up in people's yards to run over their pet or doing something naked in the middle of the Mall? Am I special? Am I Jesus filled and don't know it? Why am I so good? And what am I getting out of it? Should I be hammering down on everyone I meet? Should I be stealing offering plates or kiting checks? Why not clean my Mexican neighbors out while they're at work gutting chickens? Screw everyone......it's all for me!!!

We are seeing Fall of Rome II, in this case it's Fall of America I. Can anyone name anything about modern life that isn't FK'ed up? All this screaming about family values seems to be producing the opposite. Obviously we're on the wrong track. This Law & Order crowd, the Christian right, the Politically Correct crowd, super authoritarians on every corner.....you'd think we'd be acting better, not worse. But look how many of them have been caught in embarrassing and often criminal situations. Hypocrites in large numbers never seen before in the history of man.

Why 4 are we dumber now than 75 years ago? Is it the telephone? Television? Something in the water? Imagine if we had to fight WWII again......everything is made in China, our leaders lead only in directions that profit them personally, even Army Generals. Good lord.....we can't win a war in a postage stamp sized country! We can't hold an honest election! We have hired killers in Iraq and soon to be fighting in the failed War on Drugs within the USA. I think your allusion to Old Rome is not amiss, DBI. Rome eventually fell, though it took a while. May the final demise of America find us both dead and gone. I have no kids, but yours will probably do all right as long as they can. All I can do is wish them well. We are but a step or two away from the apocolypse.
