Cha-chinging OK'd
The state Supreme Court has upheld an appellate court's ruling that the state's law on "games of skill" law is constitutional. The court's opinion on the suit, filed against Oaklawn, Racing Commission chair Cecil Alexander and Southland Racing Corp., was signed by Special Justice Jim Jackson; Special Justice Cliff Gibson dissented. Annabelle Imber and Robert Brown did not participate.
The court wrote, "While at the current time Oaklawn and Southland are the only two
franchise holders in the state, we observe no limitation which would prohibit another business entity from becoming a franchise holder similar to Oaklawn and Southland, thereby entitling the entity to the same rights provided for under the Act, assuming that the local electorate voted in favor of such."

Hot damn! Bring on the Injun Casino in Fort Baptist, Benny! What's good for the Cella family is good for every single town in Arkansas. Who cares if Whirlpool moves to Mexico? The laid off workers won't sweat so much when their dealing blackjack in an air-conditioned casino. No itchy fiberglass, no lifting heavy metal boxes, plus you can drink and smoke on your break.
Us white adults can all get jobs in casinos and then fleece the Mexican workers out of their paychecks each week. Then everyone can shop at Wal-Mart spending their paychecks and their winnings. We're looking at a simple world of happy people!
With our pesky kids in the military and the government housing, feeding, taking care of their medical care and burying them when they get killed.....our lives are planned out from here on. The neo-con plan is ugly and sad, but in the end it might just work. A place for everybody and everybody for every place. I smell Quality of Life people! I smell Quality of Place! Oh I just love all those Chamber of Commerce words, don't you?

I would much prefer to lose my money on two or three trips to casinos in Arkansas. It would save me some gas money!

What's next... bowling for big bucks, para-mutual at the I-30 speedway? This could really open up a lot of possibilities.
