Fifty years from now

Unity in the Community is a project to have a time capsule as part of the 50th anniversary of the School Crisis. I was going to write about it (you just can't say no to Annie Abrams), but I think John Brummett has done it today better than I could do. He writes of things he hopes people who open the capsule will find changed for the better since 2007.

Here, too, is an explanation being distributed by backers of the project.

Here's one tip. Do not bury a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere. Tulsa showed us it will be reduced to a rusted pile of goo in 50 years. Another thing....do not drop in anything remotely disparaging of Dick Cheney. You don't want him pissed at LR 50 years from now. By then all 10 of his fingers will be a nukular tipped missals able to launch by a simply pointing of his hands.
