Adios Anne
KTHV anchor Anne Jansen just phoned to say that, after 25 years in television news, she’s hanging it up. Jansen said retirement was a decision she made two years ago when it came time to renew her contract. She said she’ll stay on with the station through Feb, 1. As for her plans for life after television, Jansen said that she’ll remain in Little Rock, curtail her involvement in various charities and non-profit groups and basically “redefine my life.”
“I’m just going to be very selfish as far as my family goes,” she said. “I have no plans other than to be a wife and a mother.”

I grew up watching Anne. I'm really going to miss her. She has a air of style, elegance, and intelligence to her. Today's THV will feel a lot different without her. Best of luck to you Anne! You'll be missed by many.

Anne Jansen is a class act. She is truly a professional whose grace and style will be hard to replace. Good luck, Anne. Viewers will certainly miss you! I can't say that I blame you for leaving as your kids are at the age where they really need your involvement. You are truly lucky that you can make a decision to be with your family more. Godspeed!

In my second year of teaching at Rose City in NLR, Anne and a film crew came over to do a bit about an economic project my students were doing. She made all of us feel at ease with her smooth conversational skills and wonderful smile. Most of all, I was impressed with quality of the piece she put together for airing. The editing was superb and the story made an impact on our school.
Everyone at the school was proud of the our kids and their work and we were especially pleased with the reaction from the community regarding her piece. Her professionalism with such a simple and local story has been the hallmark of her entire career. In my opinion, she set the standard for trustworthiness and demeanor for the other newscasters and reporters in our state.
Thanks, Anne.

Dependable, dignified and vivacious without excess - a rare anchorwoman. She kept the focus on the story, not on herself. She will be missed.
(Note to a different female "news personality" that has now re-surfaced on-air- the big flowing hair was great when you were a young chick, but now . . .)

Anne, I'm going to miss you. When you were a new reporter at KTHV and I was reporting for our state's regional radio network, I always enjoyed talking with you when we happened to be covering the same story. You impressed me as a sincerely nice person as well as a dedicated professional then, and you still are today. I wish you the very best and a long, happy life. But please come back when you are ready; we will miss you.
