The Dems have a winner ...
... in expansion of the federally backed health insurance program for children. Just who, Brummett writes, is likely to be outraged -- besides Republican candidates with rich constituencies to serve with tax breaks -- by pushing the coverage into the middle class.

No max they do not have a winner in fact that is a loser especially for the already bankrupt USA.
What this health care will do is, and you should know it, make millions and millions of foreigners want to come here anyway they can for if nothing else to get the free health care for their kids.
But, you could say that foreigners are getting all the free health care already. Huh! Crazy people educated people making laws that are just as crazy as they are.
They had better fix the main problem which is illegal immagrations before tackling the health care thing because it will not work for the american people till they do!

Brummett must have downed too much cheap wine over the weekend-
"...only way Democrats can blow this issue is to overplay their hand. Predictably, perhaps inevitably, they flirted with that the other day.
They brought in sick children as props. If there is any sin that compares with insensitivity to sick children, it's exploitation of them."
But this is nothing John. You should have been around for the Terry Schiavo shows. It was too good. R's tripping all over them selves to save poor Terry who's brain was already as dead as chasv's on a good day. Then their was that good Dr.-Senator from Tenn who did long-distance analysis and affirmed for a nation bordering on insanity that Terry was indeed functioning and alive.

One of my conservative friends actually had kind words for Hillary last week, because of her willingness to take on our broken health care system. I sent my congressman a note saying that health care is the number one issue facing our country, even greater than Iraq.
You don't have to be a liberal to know things are broken. When it comes to what we spend vs. what we get, we're 37th in the world. I'm tired of spending way, way too much on health care for what I get. It is nothing less than government redistributing my wealth by refusing to do things a better way.

Good post Roland. Wish you had mentioned that we SPEND MORE per capita than any other industrialized nation on health care. Trouble is too much of it is for needless bottom lines of insurance companies. They are not good at sorting out who needs what. They are good at sorting our their share.
