Below the surface
Add the National Review to the American Spectator as a conservative organ that gets Mike Huckabee. Sure, he has some appeal to voters, an editorial says. But:
Unfortunately, what Huckabee offers by way of solutions is a mixture of populism and big-government liberalism; the common theme of his policies is that they are half-baked. If an ill-considered slogan can be used to justify a policy, he is for it.
Half-baked policies and ill-considered sloganeering. Yep. That about gets it.

Comments
I'm glad that people are catching on to Huck being a complete fake, but they're still missing the point of why exactly he was so worthless. It's still just like watching Primaries 2000 Redux. Maybe these stories will slow the momentum, but I'm betting a strong showing will create the HuckaVeep movement.

Check out today's ABC online news, there is a link to the blog, Political Radar, that provides a generally positive spin to the huck's hook up with chuck norris. The guy is a leaky gasbag and the national media is sniffing along like ole blue hot on the trail. What did the boys down at the mercantile usta say, "that dog don't hunt".

Max, you left out savage peevishness and unrivaled grasping greedy sense of entitlement.

It's interesting to note that Mitt Romney gave National Review Online thousands of dollars last year, just before he launched his exploratory committee.
I see the Review doesn't mention that in complaining about Huckabee.

"What Republicans need is a new domestic policy to address today's concerns."
NRO
Yea, like somebody is going to believe them. Haven't we seen enough of god-inspired "new domestic policy" from Wingnuts backfire time after time. But there's always the faithful who have no need for learning cause faith replaces reason.

click on my name and you will see what the print version of prouster calls dear mike's lates't ad in iowa featuring chuck norris. evidently he is pulling out all of the stops to be stupid. he has also made abortion a national instead of a state policy. he says if it is wrong anywhere then it is wrong everywhere.

If it will fit on a bumper sticker, it must be good policy. Right?

SUPER-HUCK STRIKES AGAIN!
Huckabee: God wants us to fight global warming
"The first thing I will do as president is send Congress my comprehensive plan for energy independence," he proclaims on his Web site. "We will achieve energy independence by the end of my second term." The goal may sound admirable, but even if it's achievable -- and many experts doubt that it is -- Huckabee's plan for getting there is light on specifics."

If anyone ever asks, just how did Bush/Cheney get selected and elected. Now you can explain it by example.
