Effective sex ed

For more evidence that abstinence-only sex education not only doesn't work, it's dangerous:  Read here. And also here.

Thirteen states have now rejected federal funding for abstinence-only programs, Planned Parenthood says. In 2006, Arkansas accepted $2 million for these programs. It is a waste. The programs prevent teaching of useful information about birth control and health-saving information about transmission of disease. Arkansas is 10th in the nation in teen pregnancies.

Max I have to tell you and everyone else that likes to believe those lies.. I have three sisters and two brothers and by God I know abstinence works for we are living proof it works. I tell you this too of all the kids I went to school with none, not one girl got into trouble or got pregnant before they got married.
Abstinence works.

If there's anybody on here other than anonymouse who doesn't understand about those "abstinence only " political giveaways then I'm truly surprised. It's easy money. No teacher certification is required for the "instructors" who are often paid just above min. wage. The grantees make out like any Bushbandit, and if you talk about unemployment, just wait till Jan 09. There will be hard core wingnuts all over the Red and Blue states looking for gainful employment and so unqualified to do much more than housekeeping or writing simplistic slogans.

Oh, add chasv to the list of unawares.

Abstinence is not sex. Sex education is about what one needs to know when they cross over to the active side of life.

Abstinence works until it doesn't.

One day when our legislator's get their feet firmly planted in the real world they will see the necessity to put laws on the books too criminalize foolishness like end results of abstinence teaching.

We got major problems to tackle but yet some powerful people are obsessed with twisting the book to bid their own warped fantasy world.
