It's too darn hot

One more reason we don't need a gas-belching coal plant in Hempstead County. They're having to postpone the Hill Wheatley Plaza ice skating rink in Hot Springs until Nov. 24 because it's too warm. Tell me. It was 81 in Dallas last night, where the plane sat at the gate for more than two hours. I've been walking around in shirtsleeves in NYC today. And speaking of gassing up, that's what they were doing this afternoon to the Macy parade balloons. We gassed up at Otto, Mario Batali's pizza joint in Greenwich Village. Spinach and pancetta salad. A pizza with grana padana cheese and mushrooms. Some peanut butter gelato.

Dang max, I thought sure you were astute enough to know the hot air is generated by all the presidential candiates travelling the country, doing their posturing and changing their stories in mid speech. It happens every four years. Quit blaming it on SWEPCO.

Gawda-mitey ... I just looked up from gnawing on the "What Would Jesus Buy?" thread. See what happens when you leave us kids at home by ourselves?

Anyway, there are six new items up and we appreciate that. That's a whole day's work. Enjoy this time in New York.

Consider the Water Taxi if it works with your tromping around. Link below.

You know things are weird when NWA is much colder than NYC. Chickenopolis was a chilly 34 deg F when I walked the little beast at mid morning. She got a short 1 block walk.

4:40 p.m. in the Spa and hot as a july evening. Have all the ceiling fans on and my cold
water sqirt bottle nearby.

SQUIRT.....don't correct me, first mistake of the week.

Once again, Maxwell, you spoke too wrecklessly. Check the thermometer now, silly one. A simple variation of the norm is no cause for an all-out anti-SUV, anti rhetoric. I froze my balls off this past April on an unusually cool day and I didn't call for the heads of those grilled-cheese, veggie pita eating, t-shirt selling Widespread fanatics for driving hybrid civics who say its too freakin hot.

This seems a good place for 'open' comments. This story is too rich to pass up, as is so fitting for wingnut NWA:

BENTONVILLE -- Centerton Mayor Ken Williams resigned Wednesday and acknowledged he has been living under an assumed identity since 1980. ...

Williams was appointed mayor in 2001 after former Mayor Mike Wakefield resigned as part of a plea agreement for vandalism, public intoxication and resisting arrest. Williams was re-elected twice.
.....
Williams' resignation comes after revelations he assumed the identity of a dead man and that his real name is Don LaRose. He walked away from a wife and two daughters in Hammond, Ind., and assumed the name Bruce Kent Williams, he said. During a news conference after the City Council meeting, Williams said he fled to keep his family safe and to keep himself alive.

Williams said he was abducted and his memory was erased in 1975. His family found him the next year living as a homeless man named Ken Williams. The LaRose family then moved to Hammond, Ind., where Williams served as a pastor at a local church. He became convinced his abductors were targeting him again and decided to leave his family in 1980.

Words fail me, eLwood. "No mental problems"? I wouldn't say that.

SHAMELESS SELF(?) PROMOTION ALERT...

One of the Broadway Camp dancers leading today's Macy's Parade, performing Mike Feinstein's 'Making Magic', is rumored to be Muleboy's daughter.

If she returns able to get her head through the door, I will give many thanks :)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at the AT blog.

John A A,,,,,,,yeah, look purty good, in a SQIRT or not, for a grown up ole dame.
