Ok, ok

Several readers have already mentioned it, but, for the record, here's the Rasmussen Iowa caucus poll that has the Huckster leading the Mittster 28-25. Oh, and Jerry Falwell Jr. endorsed Huck today. Also, the fair tax outfit that has been investing big bucks in the Huck is short of cash and under investigation for possible impermissible support of a political candidate. Huck? Involved in ethical corner-cutting? Say it ain't so.

Liberty U.'s New Leader Endorses Huckabee

Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas who is running for the Republican nomination for president, has won the endorsement of the leader of one of the country's most conservative Christian universities.

Jerry Falwell Jr., who recently took over his late father's job as chancellor of Liberty University, said today that Mr. Huckabee is his choice for president, the Associated Press reports.

Mr. Huckabee, a Baptist minister, spoke today at Liberty, in Lynchburg, Va.. He told a crowd of about 8,000 students that political pundits have been at a loss to explain his recent rise in the Iowa polls, but that he believes his growing support results from people's praying for him, according to the AP.

The former governor seeks to win over voters who hold conservative beliefs, often rooted in religion, on such topics as abortion, gay marriage, and the origin of life.

Liberty University was founded in 1971 by Jerry Falwell, a politically outspoken television evangelist, who led the institution until he died last May.

The elder Falwell's activism on conservative causes made him a nationally known and deeply polarizing figure. He founded the Moral Majority, which helped make evangelical Christians a political force to be reckoned with.

His worldview is reflected in Liberty's curriculum. For instance, all undergraduates are required to take a course on how to defend creationism.

Max - it's ironic that Huckabee's success works to your advantage too. You'll get to hang out with Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, George Stephanopoulos, Bob Schieffer, etc. Sounds like big fun.

Congratulations, HuckaVeep. I still doubt the momentum is enough for a victory, but a strong showing will help make the case for the VP pick, which should keep you busy long enough to ensure the Arkiepublicans won't have anyone at all to recruit against Lieberman-Pryor. And no, I'm not worried about you being my Vice President. It's nothing personal, I just don't see it happening for you or any other Republican in this social climate.

Anyone have a pic of J. Falwell jr.????????????????????????
His pappy was a real looker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here you go, jazzy.

The Huck will not make it past Iowa. When New Hampshire and Michigan roles around the one that will have the spot light will be RON PAUL.

Not half bad, is he adopted???
Thanks Mister Mann, I knew one of you would come thru.

hey hey.. Max got a shout out on Hardball this evening from Joan Walsh re his excellent Salon article on the Huckster.

Keep in mind Iowa does NOT have a primary election, they have a caucus.

Proud to hear Max mentioned again this eve on Hardball.

he believes his growing support results from people's praying for him <<

OMG, if that's the case we hope they don't pray for rain...liable to be a deluge.

If he flounders in libertarian New Hampshire will it be the work of the devil or will
god find N.H. unnecessary?

the "fair tax," which would eliminate the Internal Revenue Service and the federal income tax and establish a flat sales tax of 23 percent. Huckabee,...running second in polling ahead of Iowa's Republican presidential primary caucuses on Jan. 3, is a big promoter of the tax plan<<

As soon as folks realize that will be adding 23% to the cost of a 200K home, or a 30K suv the flat tax may not look so good. When the havoc really starts is when credit cards get maxxed out due to an extra 23% being added on. Curtail Americans plastic go-cards and there goes the economy.

A Scientific Prediction From Genesis

Besides myself, all others that try to tell us what Genesis says do not understand the text, and are speaking from ignorance. I'm sorry to have to take this position, but there are too many false teachers and unqualified people talking about "creation\evolution debates" (when no such contest exists), and proclaiming false doctrines about Genesis, such as Creation Science, theistic evolution, progressive creation, and "gap" theories. There is even the fad of "Intelligent Design", which is a big waste of time, and has almost nothing of value to offer.

There are no "creation accounts" in Genesis. The opposing view of evolution is what I call "the Observations of Moses", which were visions of six days from the past, given to Moses by God, on Mt. Sinai in 1598 BC. Each day was taken from a different day of the week, each week being the first week from a different geologic age of mankind.

Having said that, I am now making this declaration, so that mankind may know that the words and events written in Genesis are true, and the humanist theories of our origins are false. I predict that secular science shall soon find, if they have not already, solid evidence of prehistoric mankind, which is earlier than 30 million years in age. The book "Moses Didn't Write About Creation!", states from Genesis that mankind has been in his present likeness for over 60 million years. Moses wrote about extinction and restoration.
