The great pumpkin

It was a perfect day for the Hill Road pumpkin roll, when neighbors gather to roll Halloween pumpkins down the steep grade on Midland, the longest rolls winning prizes. Chances are sold for the rolls and they raise money for Camp Aldersgate. But the fun is the gathering, the smushed pumpkins, the shrieking kids and the haphazard paths the irregular objects take down Midland and across Kavanaugh (crossing guards warn oncoming traffic of the orange projectiles).
