The next speaker

Steve Harrelson's Under the Dome says the race for House speaker  in 2009  is down to Robbie Wills of Conway and David Dunn of Forrest City. Wills' people think David Cook's departure from the race will add votes to their column.

This is not a shot against anyone, but I have a feeling a shot will be taken at my expense.

However, I find it a bit disconcerting that we are in 2007 and the finalists for the Speaker's job seem to be already set.

Who gives a shit who becomes speaker? This is a fucking banana republic run by dumb, country ass, corrupt white people controlled by lobbyists. Have you ever heard these people debate or in committee? They barely speak Arkansas English, much less the King's English.

Would that King be of the Elvis, James or of the Burger families?

Abeles must met Billy Gaskill. Every day I wake up and thank fuck I don't live in Maumelle.

Red, the election is in 7-8 weeks. It occurs a year out. This is much later than it used to occur when it took place about two-thirds of the way through the previous General Assembly - effectively two years out. Of course, when that practice started it was a) mostly ceremonial, b) largely based on seniority, and c) chosen from and by people who had served with each other for years, not days.

Littlecrock (not Littlecrotch--I know).

Your question is valid. Perhaps all three, but heavily weighted towards Burger.

Basil, I dwell downtown. You?

Basil, major apologies are due the city of Maumelle. Gaskill is from Paragould. I agree, he's an embarrasing dumb ass, ignorant and mean, but don't tag Maumelle with him.

Abe, I don't know how the King spoke it, but you sure wouldn't have gotten that post past any of my comp instructors. Glass houses, don't ya know...

Theo, you're right. Your comp instructors at a public school would have appreciated the following twist:

It don't matter who be the speaker. We livin' in the backwoods with a bunch of kiss ass crackers running the show. Communication is just another means of keeping the little man down.

Abeles,

If you dropped your g's it would add to your credibility.
In the vernacular don't is generally don' without the t and rarely would the word "just" be used. Normally it would be "jes"

Is this David Dunn related to the Dunn who was somehow involved in selling AR prisoners' HIV tainted blood to the blood supply in ?Canada?
