Judicial shuffle
I hate this. Finding out about an error in the print edition before it's been distributed. But here goes.
We went to press at noon Tuesday. The print edition includes an Insider that says District Judge Alice Lightle, presiding over Little Rock environmental court by appointment to complete David Stewart's term, had decided to run for retiring Circuit Judge John Langston's seat in 2008.
She had wanted to run for Lee Munson's district judgeship, but Munson had said he intended to seek re-election and she didn't want to oppose the incumbent. But today, Lightle said, Munson, already retired from a chancery bench seat, informed her that he planned to retire from the district court. So she will be running for that seat. Hugh Finkelstein, a deputy prosecutor, had already announced he'd be a candidate for the job.

You should just do what Time magazine does and refuse to admit that something you printed was inaccurate, even after several different sources have extensively documented your errors. You can then further demonstrate your commitment to ethics by refusing to publish letters taking you to task for it (click my name below for details on Time). That's real journalism. Taking responsibility is for saps. No wonder Huckabee thinks you're not a real newspaper.
