I'm waiting for all the tasteless potshots that will be taken at the kids.

Americans are sort of funny about what we will and won't tolerate. Huckabee has been hammered this week. The Romney campaign has pulled out all the opposition research it never expected to have to use on Mike and pushed daily stories to the Drudge Report. Huckabee is seeing his public life examined in a six week period while Romney and Rudy and the gang have been examined for years.

But when you start to make fun of a guy's family in a Christmas card I think it reaches a backlash point. The eastern elites running the Romney campaign, and writing in Washington don't understand real America. Most of us have old photoes with bad hair and wierd shirts. Huckabee is taking it like a man this week. There will be a backlash when voters realize this guy took his beating and kept going.

Don't you people remember the grudging respect when Bubba survived Jennifer Flowers in the snow of New Hampshire? Some of you do. Romney is carpet bombing becuase he is desperate. He is astounded this guy from Arkansas is pounding him in the polls.

Huckabee will get through this and make it to Iowa and probably win. He will roll out of the heartland with huge campaign momentum.

As far as the Democrats wanting to take him on....I will say it again. Hillary will look like the ice queen running aginst this guy. She really would rather take on Romney or Rudy. I haven't been wrong yet here.

That is an excellent terrible photo and I feel sure none of the Huckabees want it out there for the world to see. I'm in plenty of goofy Easter family photos that I'd hate to see on the internets. (Remember leisure suits?) But my dad's not running for President. This is the kind of thing that happens when you're in the spotlight; it's a price you should expect to pay else you should stay out of the arena. They should expect the cheap potshots.

Is it just me or does it look like the son on our left is pointing a pistol at his mom's back and they've photoshopped-out the pistol itself?

Mzrz H has a pretty good hold on ol' Scruffy, which is probably a good thing for Scruffy.

They should have donned neckscarves, bolo-ties, and cowboy hats to round out the C&W band look--also known as gay apparel.

I get it. The dog is the progeny of Chelsea and one of the boys.

Why do I get the feeling we're going to be saying President Huckabee.

Cheap shots like that don't play with most Americans and it just reinforces the whole story of how he turned his life around.

Romney like Kerry is painted as a flip-flopper for changing his mind, Huck just needs to trot that pic out and talk about the changes in his life and he's got a pass.

Apparently Huck's rejection of evolution will not hurt his chances very much.

A comparison of peoples' views in 34 countries finds that the United States ranks near the bottom when it comes to public acceptance of evolution. Only Turkey ranked lower.

Among the factors contributing to America's low score are poor understanding of biology, especially genetics, the politicization of science and the literal interpretation of the Bible by a small but vocal group of American Christians, the researchers say.

"American Protestantism is more fundamentalist than anybody except perhaps the Islamic fundamentalist, which is why Turkey and we are so close," said study co-author Jon Miller of Michigan State University.

My parents received that card many years ago. When out of state family came in for the holiday they were passing it around and were in tears laughing. I was a little insulted until they passed it to me. Ah...good times.

If you're referencing when one son TORTURED/KILLED a dog, or when another tried to board a plane with a gun...those aren't potshots, they're pertinent facts. But I'll help you make the distinction. Pertinent facts: Anything that's illegal or completely contradicts whatever Morality Tale the parent is trying to sell to the world. Tasteless potshots: Anything that is legal and unrelated to the parent's Tale (i.e. the physical attributes/deficits of the young Hucks/Chelsea). It's a generalization, but it should help you make the distinction, prouster.

How is this a cheap shot? This is a guy who started his presidential campaign with a book called "Digging Your Grave With A Knife and Fork." He's going to lead the country to better health when he can't even lead his hippopotamid family that way? Knife and fork, indeed. More like a backhoe.

Looking at this lovely picture the only question that comes to my mind is.....whose the real father of the girl? As I was taught to say by Sesame Street, one of these things is not like the other things.

Yeah, what potshots at the kids? You mean, like the one who ran for president of student gov't at ASU who actually spray-painted his candidacy (Huck for SGA pres) on sidewalks across campus and whose handiwork took days of sandblasting by the ASU maintenance crews? That's a potshot?

I wouldn't want a bunch of females swooning over me. I've been married to a hotty for nearly twenty years. But I guess if my wife was the cold-hearted witch that Willy's is, I'd be wanting females to swoon over me too.
