Staffing up

No doubt anticipating a busy 2008 with his state lottery proposal, Lt. Gov. Bill Halter has announced some staff appointments.  Veteran journalist Garry Hoffmann (most recently state editor of the Democrat-Gazette) will be communications director for the office and Nathan Hamilton, who worked in Halter's 2006 campaign, will be director of governmental affairs.

And maybe a little run against Pryor in 2008?

What about the noncomital response "No comment" don't you get DBI?? Leave my little rattlesnake alone...

I'm starting to think he's afraid to take on Pryor (although I'm sure he would love to on a personal level), but Blanche has a re-election looming in a couple of years....I'm certainly not Halter's biggest fan, but I'll take him over Deedle Dumb and LiebermanPryor anyday. If you recall, Halter's not a rattlesnake...the description was "as cuddly as a water moccassin" and it fits... this is, after all, Arkansas politics, and if you don't play the "good-ole-boy game" you better be prepared to fight...a little venom in the bite always helps bring down a bigger, stronger opponent.

Who's paying the "staff" for this lottery amendment?
