The morning Huck
ACTS OF GOD: LA Times replays the legislative dispute when then-Gov. Mike Huckabee rejected age-old language in law relating to insurance coverage of natural disasters. Yes, his religion did get intertwined in public affairs -- sometimes, as legislators quoted here say, in silly and petty ways.
IOWA ON $5 A DAY: LA Times evaluates Mike Huckabee's schedule. They find it emphasizes free media opportunities and small financial outlays. This strategy works particularly well when the media give you an easy time, as they did for the first several months of Huck's run.
DON'T BOTHER ME WITH DETAILS: In a long Q&A with Time, Huckabee pretty well concedes he lacks backup specifics for many of the broad things he espouses. That will come later. In other words, it's just words, signifying not much. But he says that nobody would be paying attention if he had details, which is true to a great degree.

Comments
Ed Rollins is presently on C-Span, again selling the sizzle of how "poor" Huck was in the beginning. Ok, most Arkies were not Rockefellers during the 50's and 60s but I seriously doubt Huck was a po boy. Instead he was just about as middle class (in Ark) as a majority was then though I'm sure he would have preferred being in a higher income family. Most would but that's no reason to run on the sizzle of being
one-step from the outhouse.
Where's the beef?
In light of Huck's nasty 92 campaign against Bumpers, it's really a gas to listen to Rollins go on and on about the negative campaign being waged against the Huckster.
Rollins is off now.

Huckaliar was probably solidly in Hope's middle class, as was Bill Clinton, who also tried to play the poverty card.
Huck made up for any perceived lack of cash as a kid by becoming the biggest boodle-hog in Arkansas political memory when he grew up to be a fat radio preacher.

Can't wait to see the new Mike Huckabee ads. Since Rollins joined the campaign, Mike Huckabee is slowly becoming a traditional politician and his support stopped growing. The goose with the golden egg has been slain by Rollins.
Fools to the Right.
Fools to the Left.
Corruption rides at dawn.

In 2003, when the RevGuv was pushing his failed government re-organization plan to merge state agencies into 10 super-departments, he spoke in a House committee for the plan. In one of his quips he said that Jesus had 12 disciples, I'm only asking for 10 department heads. At that point some wise-ass legislator asked Huck - Are you saying that you are a better administrator than Jesus? His answer was lost under the uncomfortable chuckles in the room.

"Huckabee labels Romney 'dishonest' as Iowa caucus nears " from the Arkansas News Bureau. 12-31-07
Pots to the Right.
Kettles to the Left.
When it's all the same, the Democrats will win.

So AT, in my oppinion the $5 a day comment above is a good thing.
America would be a better place if a candidate DID NOT need $100,000,000 to run for office.
I guess a good thing to come out of a Huckabee campaign is to show other potential candidates that they do not need to sell their souls and mortgage their ethics to get cash to get elected.
Now it is my oppinion that Huckabee has ATTEMPTED to sell his soul but has not found takers.

The goose with the golden egg has been slain by Rollins.<<
Actually it's being slain by Romney who is simply parroting a lot of stuff that's posted here. But Mormon Mitt has millions to broadcast the truth to those Huckadupes which he is doing frequently.
I think the days of running a campaign by the seat of your pants ended long ago. Even Ron Paul has beat Huck on fund raising about 4:1.
Meanwhile, few are watching as Rudy is planting a heavy crop in voter-rich Florida.
After tiny NH, if the candidates have no funding it's all over. In the sub atomic domains of Iowa you only need 27-30% of 100,000 caucus goers. Hence a $100 dollar a day campaign is possible. That's why Iowa can pump up a little known campaign, often to no avail.
.
Huck is saying Iowa will make political history since he is being outspent 20:1 so even if he comes in 2nd it's simply a miracle.
