Why do they lie?
Big mistake, though one the Huckabee camp has committed before. When former aide Kamala Williams dumped documents on us demonstrating Mike Huckabee's greedy grab for the Governor's Mansion spending account, the Huckabee team suggested she somehow had made up the reams of documents, many personal memos unmistakably from Huckabee's pen.
Now the Huckabee team has made the mistake of questioning the validity of documents the governor's office received from women objecting to Wayne Dumond's proposed commutation. Murray Waas has obliged by posting letters from eight women on the Huffington Post, including from three women who said they were assaulted by Dumond. This didn't stop Huckabee, of course, from telling the Parole Board what an injustice had been done to poor Wayne nor from his releasing a letter the day Dumond was freed saying freedom for Dumond had been Huckabee's wish all along.

Arkansans Breed Unconscionably Corrupt Pols
Huckabee's beginnings as a pre-pubescent local radio star in his and former president Bill Clinton's hometown, Hope, Arkansas; obviously fed his insatiable appetite for all the trappings (especially material ones)of fame/power. At age 21, he came under the wing of extreme right wing televangelist James Robison: "I went out and bought him several suits and dressed him up real sharp," says pastor James Robison, a prominent televangelist who hired Huckabee at the time to work on Billy Graham-style crusades and television programs. "He was hungry to associate with people who were difference-makers." Huckabee's association with Robison also brought him under the wing of the Nelson Bunker Hunt&Amway's Devoss funded ultra right wing Council for National Policy.
Despite Huckabee's extreme right wing tutelage exemplified by his " Adam and Steve " social policies, his ultra-conservative beliefs do not carry over to his taxation policies. In fact, he raised taxes in Arkansas more than any previous governor; taxes added onto the burdens of one of the most impoverished, most regressively taxed citizenry in the country. And to make matters even worse, Huckabee left office in January,2007 with a surplus of a BILLION dollars; thus insuring his legacy as the greatest " Tax and Hoard " politician in Arkansas' history.
Huckabee's greed fueled personal corruption has been well documented for decades by the highly respected editor of The Arkansas Times; Max Brantley. Huckabee began his practice of forming secretive PAC's at the very beginnings of his political careeer by which to personally draw upon those funds while secreting the sources:
In his successful 1994 run for lieutenant governor, he set up a nonprofit such ruse known as Action America so he could give speeches for money without having to disclose the names of his benefactors. We have only recently discovered the primary benefactor for Action America was the R.J.Reynolds Tobacco Company.
Huckabee's most blatant money grab has, however, probably been his association with Ted Ruhl, founder of The Lord's Ranch. The Lord's Ranch purports to be a faith-based mental health treatment facility for children.
During the course of its unfortunate existence, despite The Lord's Ranch history of being cited repeatedly for ethical, financial and 'other' violations; Suhl's venture abetted by Huckabee seems to have been an extremely profitable enterprise.
The ranch is one of eight providers of mental health services that are paid by the state when, for instance, a juvenile offender is referred by a juvenile court for mental health services. It received $8.5 million from the state in 2005, up from $140,000 just five years earlier..... And Arkansas now spends more state monies per capita for juvenile psychiatric sevices than any other state in the country.
Among Huckabee's known tit-for-tats from Suhl is the questionable use of Suhl's private Jet in which he, his family and his entourage have flown "gratis" around the country for Mike's private business purposes. Only Huckabee, Suhl and , of course God one presumes, seem to know how long the free transport has been made available to the Right Reverend/ Public Servant Huckabee.
As egriegious as Huckabee is, it is of little comfort that it only requires a little research to uncover; Huckabee must have learned his remarkable skills from the equally amoral Clintons!

Well, what about the airplane. I'm reminded today by the article re: Bebee's use of the plane for business only vs. Huckabee considering our state his own personal fiefdom and that the state owed him alms due to his sacrifice for being Governor.
We still don't know how Huckabee used the plane? Where are those state troopers that spoke up so well during Clinton's run coming forward about Huckabee's actions? Including perhaps a certain surgery.

Why do they lie? This just in, the shrub states today that he was only briefed on the CIA tapes a couple of days ago despite his close advisor, Harriet Miers, advised the CIA back in 2005 not to do it. He was also a little slow on the up-take about the NIE report until a few weeks ago, uh huh. Based on what we know and when we know it I'd say the shrub and huckle was liars. My mamma would ponder some and pronounce, "the dough dint rise for these ole boys, either that or when they called out "brains" they heard rain and run under the house."
