All in the family

Aaron Sadler of Stephens Media reports that all three Huckabee children -- in addition to his daughter-in-law and brother-in-law -- are now on the campaign payroll. (He notes that other candidates' kids are campaigning for their parents, such as Chelsea Clinton, but doesn't make clear whether they are on payroll or not.) He chats with the Huckabee kids about campaign life.

GONE FISHING Also today: I'm quite sure the fish symbol in the background of the Huckabee ad here was accidental or perhaps an attempt to advertise a catfish restaurant.

RELIGION BAITING: Salt Lake paper notes the anti-Mormon commentary on the Huckabee blog, which is generally carefully moderated. (Just try to put something on there about The Huckster's gift grabs and see if it gets posted for long.)

BLOOD LUST: Kevin Drum makes an interesting point on that negative ad that Huckabee pulled that has been played over and over for free. One point of criticism is that Mitt Romney has never executed anyone. What a pussy! Oh, OK, so what if there is no death penalty in Mass.? The pro-life Arkansas governor still wants to wave his own bloody executioner's shirt high, preferably in a free ad with a cross and a fish in the background. And, by the way, Mitt REALLY wanted to kill somebody. He filed a bill to reinstate the death penalty.

In addition to Huck's chillin knocking on doors and knocking down a regular paycheck You-Know-Who is
doing its part:

Huckabee Goes Into Caucuses "Kneeling To God"

West Des Moines, Iowa - Two nights before the crucial first-in-the-nation caucuses, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee appealed to God to grant his supporters guidance as the former Arkansas governor struggled to maintain his tenuous lead.

"We cannot do it," he said referring to Thursday night's Republican caucus, "by arming ourselves and taking anyone out. We will go to the caucuses having knelt on our knees and having asked God for his wisdom."

Huckabee made his appeal Tuesday night to a brimming ballroom of supporters in the conservative suburbs of the state capital against a backdrop of country western music and accompanied on stage by actor and self-described "corporate leader" Chuck Norris.

I guess the Huck isn't really trying to win.

All I can say is I hope god is smarter than Republicans.
.

Pattern started in 1992 and hasn't changed since. Huckabee is master of keeping the campaign dollar in the family. Showed his true objective in his interview about leaving Iowa to be on Leno show. Huckabee is a entertainer looking for a venue.....not a serious presidential contender.

"All I can say is I hope god is smarter than Republicans."

Amen.

That Huck thinks Norris' 'endorsement' is a plus for a presidential candidate indicates God has a much better sense of humor than Huck...or that his God is caucusing for another. And, any state that tilts toward Huck because of the Norris-vote should be made to go last, voting wise...and receive a massive overhaul of its educational system. I, at least, understand the Godies choosing another like-minded God-man; the Norris constituency, on the other hand, is beyond understanding. The man can't 'even' act. But now that I think about it...Huck/Ranger Walker are a perfect match ''cause Huck doesn't do the God-thing well...and that's his chosen profession. Plus both have ambitions that are light years beyond their abilities, and often mistake personal PR for reality.

Let me guess who's now head of campaign security...

He must have remembered to pack his gun in checked luggage this time, since we haven't seen any news reports on a breach of airport security.

The fish symbol an attempt to advertise a catfish restaurant? Nah. That's a "Jesus fish," as some Christians nowadays call it. Don't ya remember from Bible School when you were a tyke? "Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men." -Matthew 4:19.

The god immunization is catching on. Who can argue with a candidate that connects to the almighty.
It would be political suicide to do so. No one questioned Bush's "god told me to strike and I did." Not a soul in MSM said a word about Bush hearing voices.

Therefore any of you who want to get by with just about anything will be glad to know DBI and moi are
teaming up to hold a god-immunization clinic in Ft Baptist. Shots are $2350 per per patient. Bring your own Bible. We furnish the rubbing alcohol. Prayers are free too.
.

I see no problem with the kids working for and receiving a paycheck. The other candidates probably do it, too. But using religious symbols to "net" votes is a cheap, transparent, and offensive ploy, especially when the Huckster plays dumb. ("Cross, what cross?", followed by the Beatles reference).

What a jack-ass.

Note to the above: For scientific research purposes some of the god-immunization shots will contain
placebos.

NAH

I'll bet the Stepford Romney kids are over paid.

"But using religious symbols to "net" votes is a cheap, transparent, and offensive ploy, especially when the Huckster plays dumb. "

Amen, Mr. hugh.

One thing you can be sure of.....the Guliani kids are not on Rudy's payroll. Probably working for Mitt or maybe Hillary.

Mr. 89 year old Durangokid,,,,,your name was mentioned, more than any other, around
our table yesterday and gave us lots of laughs.
Wonder if they have heavy equipment in Iowa to pull the Huck boys out of snow banks in
case they tumble in one???

Too bad "Hee Haw" isn't taping, that would be his best venue. Huckabee is really satisfied now, even if he not elected. All he want is recognition he can use later. His missed his calling, they could have used him as a host of Family Feud. He could out rank Richard Dawson as the greatest ass kisser on tv.

"One thing you can be sure of.....the Guliani kids are not on Rudy's payroll. Probably working for Mitt or maybe Hillary."

Guliani's daughter is campaigning for Obama.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but isn't it interesting how involved Senator Tim Hutchinson appears to be with the Huckabee campaign. He is in the background of Huckabee's Iowa events. Help or hindrance? Max, have you mentioned this yet?

If Timmy Hutchinson is working in the Huckabee camp...it must mean that Huck has sprinkled water on Tim's penis and absolved it of all past sins. I recommend Huck go a step further and whip a covenant marriage on Tim and Randi, Brandi....whatever.

Two things Huck loves more than anything (yes, ANYTHING) is attention and money. He is getting more than he should of both. How will this all play out? I really don't know, but I have a sickly feeling that it might be putting him in the limelight he craves so much. I've said all along that he was going to do better than people from Arkansas, who are sick of the man, gave him credit for. He does know how to pull strings. Remember Imus right after he won the first election? Remember the Banana Republic? Remember the higher power that he always had and 'in' with? It must have been the money god because he/it gave Huck and his sweetie a plane to fly all over the universe at Arkansas taxpayers' expense.

Aren't you really fed up with all of his faux pas on international relations? Does he think the Holy Spirit will put words in his mouth even when he doesn't know what the heck he is talking about? It seems in his pseudo-theology degree he didn't get any world history, science or politics and government. He only got bible and preaching, I guess. The scary thing is, can he play this thing all the way to the white house, which has lost its class since the other Man from Hope left?
