Changes at LRSD

Mark Milhollen, the chief financial officer of the Little Rock School District, and school district spokesman Joe Mittiga, are leaving the district, according to memos to the school board from Interim Superintendent Linda Watson. Watson said Milhollen's letter said he was retiring; Mittiga said it was time to move on.

Mark is a victim of "casting one's net in the wrong spot". He knows his stuff, but not people. Mittiga, on the other hand, had NO experience at whatever his job description was - and the School Board hired him on the recommendation of Brooks. I'll bet Mittiga is headed to the NHS (New Hussman School) with Brooks. Good steady pay for a truck driver. Don't ya think? Hmmmm, wonder if Mark is headed there also. IF that happens to be the case, then I will question my ability to judge the character of a man/woman. Then, again, perhaps the old adage is true: Every man has his price. Sad, so sad.

Sad. Milhollen is a good guy, a district veteran. Not a politician, just a competent numbers guy. If the current wrecking crew replaces him with one of their cronies, look for financial scandal shortly thereafter.

PVN
Inasmuch as Mark is over maintenance, hopefully as the two of them exit the District he will make sure that the door does not hit them as they ride into the sunset, etc. Moreover, there was financial scandal aplenty with Mark on the clock. Accordingly, his replacement most certainly will do no worse...
