Blake's Think Tank says Tom DeLay won't be speaking at the Clinton School today after all. Flu cited.

Hurray for germs! Are we waiting for the polar icecaps to melt before Tom DeLay's trial starts? Which Bush US Attorney is dragging his feet on this one? Let Tom have his day in court!

Never should have been invited in the first place. I don't know why they think crooks and lairs need to be speaking at that school. It really degrades the education value of that institution.

I have long believed there just has to be a hell, but...well, maybe there IS a god!

It would be quite appropriate if it were the swine flu.

I suspect it was the poor attendance flu. It happens to people who used to be somebody who have become lost in the margins.

Delay is worse than the Flu.. he's walking pneumonia .. should never be invited to sully or young folks minds.. Whatever the reason.. i am more than happy to chalk it up to divine intervention.. Now, if only the C School will recognize the errors of their ways and intervene on their own behalf in the future.

We are disappointed that Tom is ill and can't appear at the Clinton School. He was one of the few speakers who would have been worth the tax payer's money it takes to keep this "waste of money' state institution open. Old Skip knocking down around 125K...all the salaries, expense of putting on mostly liberal functions, etc. What does this "school " have to do with educating OUR kids to become techs, fabricators, teachers, medical people, engineers, nurses...professions we need....Public Service? Come on! Close it and give the money back to us OR give it to Pulaski Tech who will put it to REAL use....

BJ,
Maybe you should get on the email list for the school. They have alot of conservatives come to speak. Btw, the speaker's series is paid for with private funding. And the Clinton School is a highly respectable college that brings in Ivy League graduates. Maybe you should check it out before you formulate such an intense opinion on it.

Barret,
Thanks for speaking up for all the stupid wankers out there--they too need a voice, which is, I am sure, the reason guys like Delay get invited in the first place. To your ilk, I suppose Rove, Dole, and Yoo are bleeding heart liberals.
The school is in its infancy yet has attracted some of the best and brightest from around the world both in the form of students and lecturers. Say what you want about Bill, but there are some wonderfully talented and intelligent studnets there that deserve better your blathering. Then again, I have the feeling they'll do fine regardless...

If the Clinton School wants to populate its speaker list with criminals like Delay, why not get some with less-greasy hair who don't smell like bug spray.

Barrett,
I'm sure fine folks at Pulaski Tech are flattered by your imaginary largesse, but please don't assume that adequately funding both a phenomenal two-year institution and a uniquely excellent graduate program are mutually exclusive. Without a doubt, there are students at Pulaski Technical College who aspire to attend the Clinton School one day, and we'll all be better off if their aspirations come to fruition. A rising tide may raise all boats, but a wave of ignorance threatens to drown us all.

Barrett has touched me in a tender spot...sniff....since I was a little boy I always wanted to grow up and have kids who'd do their old daddy proud by studying hard and becoming fabricators. My God the pain I have in my heart knowing that this dream will never come true! sniff My oldest, well....I bought her fabricator comic books while she was growing up. I picked out Nintendo games that lent themselves to fabricating. I encouraged her to fabricate just a little every weekend since we had all that free time since we don't go to church. And damn me if she didn't blow all that effort away by first declaring herself an English major and then switching to a degree in dramatic arts. sniff
My second child got the same treatment and maybe it's paying off a little. Since she was little she has busied herself fabricating desserts in the kitchen. Though I was wanting her to work in steel and fiberglass, I guess if I squinch my eyes a lot, she is in her own way at least touching on a career in fabricating. She wants to go to Chef's school and become a pastry chef.
I worry a little bit that that will be derailed in the next couple of years because above all things, she appears to be one giant political animal. She is her school's resident, liberal, atheist, intellectual spokesperson. Tiny as she is, she has helped found the new Gay-Straight Alliance and organizes war protests at school and away. Just peeking into the notes she keeps, the newspaper clippings she saves and the printouts from the Internet she gathers, she appears to be heading to be the next Barbara Jordan-Gloria Steinem-Hillary Clinton all rolled up into one. I hope I'm around in 2028 when she's old enough to run for President....remember you heard it here first folks! But alas...all that slashes my hopes of being the parent of fabricators...the very backbone of this country......
May Tom DeLay's flu worsen and may Clinton/Obama '08 become the reality that saves this country!

Liar? Isnt this school named after Bill Clinton? Isnt he the one disbarred and impeached for perjury? Is he the one that wagged his finger at the American people, and said I did not have sexual relations with that woman?
Tom Delay should fit right in at the Clinton School, unless it is actually named for Chelsea.
