Early voting continues
Pulaski County Election Commission Chairman Kent Walker reports that there have been over 5,000 early votes in the county as of this afternoon. Early voting continues tomorrow: you can find the site nearest you here. On Monday the only early voting location will be the Pulaski County courthouse.

I voted around noon at the Sidney S. McMath Library. I only saw 2 other voters and the clipboard I signed only had a couple dozen signatures on it. They asked me for my ID, which I guess is normal for "early voting"--it wasn't my usual precinct. I asked if they had paper ballots, but no, just touch-screens.
It was almost exhilarating to vote for someone other than an old white guy, even if it was just a primary.
(p.s., I'm an old white guy. Not super-old, but closer to 50 than 40.)

Ahhh...my friend, hugh...which non-old white guy was it?! Wink...don't say...
I am going down to the courthouse tomorrow to vote...also for a non-old white guy...
It sure does seem that the respect Obama and Clinton extended each tonight in the debate is worth mentioning...
I could barely watch a few minutes of the GOP's last night with those wackos. That's right...wackos...
Did anyone hear Huck on NPR today whining about the media? Call the bwaaaaambulance...
Cry me a river, Huck...and register for some more friggin' plates, dude...

This and that
"There he is! Senator McCain! You know you're in my heart. I have to tell you,
the President gave your speech tonight. He talked about we got to cut the number
of earmarks in half or I'm going to veto the bill, he talked about..about the war
against terrorism, he talked about reform. It was.he didn't talk about much about
the global economic challenge right now. In fact, he said basically we'll get through
this like you do. It was your speech, Senator."
-- Chris Matthews, in orgasmic bliss as he straddles Bush and McCain
"I drank too much at one time in my life."--You know who
"I want to find clones of Alito and Roberts. I worked as hard as anybody to get
them confirmed. I've said a thousand times that I wanted Alito and Roberts.
I will appointed judges as close to Roberts and Alito as possible."
-- McCain
"Finally some respect for Teddy. If he had endorsed Hillary we would have heard
about him driving his mistress off the bridge, his drinking, being a playboy, etc."
-- some dude named Red,
"If Teddy had endorsed Hillary, how many Chappaquiddick jokes would be on the web this week? "
---Bart
"It was such a riveting speech, Larry Craig only took two bathroom breaks.
Halfway through, Ted Kennedy sent over a couple of drinks to the Bush twins."
-- David Letterman

Similar experience yesterday around noon at the Odom Community Center in Maumelle. There was one person at the voting machine when I walked in. Another person came in close behind me and maybe one more before I walked out. I've had nothing but good experiences in early voting in the last few national elections. After waiting 2+ hours to vote in 2000, I've made the effort to vote early. The longest it took me at any time was about 20 minutes at the Pulaski County Courthouse in 2006. No old white guys left on the ticket I was voting!
Good debate tonight. I think my candidate did quite well! I'll leave it up to you to figure out who that was.

Ladies and gentlemen! What we witnessed tonight on the CNN debate was not 2 opponents, but a TEAM! I sincerely hope on Super Tuesday that the end result is Obama 50% and Clinton 50%. Sadly I predict it will be Clinton 60%, Obama 40% because there are more white people than black people and if you count in the people who may not even know they have racist tendencies, given a choice they'll hold their nose and vote for a white woman before they'll vote for a black man.
The last question about either of them ruling out a Clinton/Obama or a Obama/Clinton ticket made me hold my breath. Happily neither said yes or no. I'm telling you...with Hillary and Bill and Barack in the White House and John Edwards as the new Attorney General....it will be as close to FDR's 100 days as we'll ever get. Just as 2008 is as close to the misery this country was feeling and the danger this country was in back in 1932.
To right this country again it's going to take a big team of heavy lifters and the team of Clinton/Clinton/Obama/Edwards is a damn good start! I especially liked Barack's answer tonight where he said down to the lowliest Federal employee, he expected them to know they were working for the American people and he expected only the best from them. Here in BushWorld the cancer cells emanate from the White House downward. The cancer flows to the bottom of the chain as the Huckabee secrets show. There are probably Bush-bots in our local government too. All must be ferreted out. Bush's secret message has been You Work For Me and it needs to be replaced by Barack's message of we all work for the American people.
Woe unto whatever team comes out of the Republican Party. Twisted old McCain or Mormon Mountain Massacre Romney......dead candidates talking. If they start healing the sick and making the dead rise.....they're still gonna get creamed on November 4th. Praise the Lord or the deity of your choice!

Yup. A Hillary/Barack ticket (in either order) would be unstoppable. What Obama supporter wouldn't vote for him just because his name was at the bottom? What Hillary backer would cross over to vote for McCain just because her name was on the bottom of the D ticket?
How do you cure divisiveness among Democratic voters? Put both of them on the same ticket. Ta da!

Sure doesn't take much to sound a thousand times better than Republican fascists these days.. And I think Barack should get high praise for his factual framing of the war tonight.. it's been difficult to discern whether or not he gets it at times but tonight was encouraging. Hillary cannot get it .. she just can't get it.. or even admit it if she does.. The GOPer talking points have consumed her and much of Americas soul, bless her heart.
Both of them have stopped short with their health care proposals before they even got out of the gate.. It's sad... so many will suffer and some will die because they are still catering to big insurance companies instead of catering to the very heart and soul, the well being of we the people by demanding health care first and foremost.
They both said the name Edwards several times tonight but I don't think i heard the word poverty once. Nor the words New Orleans, Katrina, Torture, Constitution 1st 2nd 3rd 4th amendment etc.., Rule of Law, FISA, Accountability. Justice, and on and on.
Obama is the only hope for the office of our Presidency.. if he wants to offer Hillary the VP slot.. well i would understand but be disappointed..
God help us all if we have to suffer the DLC for another 4 to 5 years.
