Hounding Hillary

Our crew hasn't filed yet, but this just in: Belvis the Black Elvis greeted the presidential hopeful this morning at her stop at the Kitchen Express en route to her talk at North Little Rock High School this a.m. Belvis serenaded her: "Its one for the money, two for the show, and you can do it Hillary, go, go, go!

We caught up with her at the high school.

Comments

It's too bad that Elton White and Betty White aren't around to give her a proper welcome. They could serenade her with their greatest hits, like "I Want To Play With Your Balls".

Leslie I think I love you. Wonderful post.

>>Clinton was amused, though she wasn't ready to divulge her favorite Elvis tune.<<

I've heard tell in Southern psychology circles that you can get into the depths of a person by knowing her/his favorite Elvis song.

Heartbreak Hotel.

How did a political rally get staged at a "public high school"? Wow, Max would have flipped his lid had it been Huckabee.

Oh yes, meeting a potential President of the United States could have nothing to do with education.

If Huckabee would come to speak at a school we should welcome him (so long as it doesn't turn into a religious service).

Yeah Max, where are all the attacks about the principle of holding a political rally at a high school? Surely you can come up with something negative to say about courting a black tribute artist in an effort to gain the black vote.
Wait a minute, we're talking about Hilary, the candidate you've all but endorsed through this blog. I agree with Nemo. You would have blown a gasket had this been Huck.
"If we vote you in we get Bill back..." I wonder how that made her feel?! A little insignificant I suppose.

Is there something that I'm missing on this post?? All I see is the photo...

I dont know about you guys but i dont give a #&@* how she felt. I want Bill back. you yahoos may like war, a huge deficit, a weak dollar and economy, and $3.00 a gallon gas. but I liked peace, $0.72 gallon gas and a great economy.

Bring him back. and you konw what. i dont even care how many interns he has to nail in the process. as long as I can afford to drive my car and feed and clothe my family. I'd even volunteer to interview the interns during the selection process, to assure our president is happy.

James and JK,
Thanks for the red herring, but you can keep it to yourselves. Political rallies are held in the gyms of public schools all the time...at this point in a primary season, probably daily.

"Political rallies are held in the gyms of public schools all the time..."
Name one, without searching Google before you reply. You must also try responding while not riding the Clinton/Brantley bandwagon. I won't wait for you to respond. I figure you'll be on that wagon for quite some time.

Parents, please remember to tell your children Hillary voted to slaughter millions of innocent human beings in Iraq, just like Pryor and Bush.

"Parents, please remember to tell your children Hillary voted to slaughter millions of innocent human beings in Iraq, just like Pryor and Bush."

I forgot, have we already slaughtered millions, or have we just authorized that many?

This event was billed as a Town Hall Meeting, but what actually happened bore no resemblance to the format. There were no questions on policy issues solicited from the audience, no listening to the concerns of the people. The Senator began speaking at 11:12am and continued until 11:48.
Many Arkansas stories, but mostly preaching to the choir. Perhaps during the Dem debate later this week we'll hear about things that concern some folks, like is it appropriate to use the US miltary when overseas assets of US corporations are endangered, and what will be a Hillary admistration's policy on ending the US embargo on trade & travel to Cuba, etc. etc.

I forgot, have we already slaughtered millions, or have we just authorized that many?

Yes and yes.

"I wonder how that made her feel?! A little insignificant I suppose."

Does this seem odd to anyone but me. If HRC wins the general election then the Wingers say Bill will run the show. When Bill was Mr. President the wingers were saying Hillary was running the show and the brains behind pa, he wouldn't be there except for Hillary, blah, blah, blah. Which way is it or was it?
Can't you get your whining ducks in a row?
NotaHRCfan

"Suspicious Minds" ?

DBI...I didn't know you had a brother.

Great post, JRM...priorities!

Yeah...Hillary's damned any ole way she goes. If Bill wasn't out campaigning and defending her, the Wingers would be telling the world 'She can't even get her own man to stand up for her blah blah'...then they'd made some stupid bubba joke about her appearance/whatever.

I've got to get me some Hillary signs...and then enjoy.

Maybe she could court the Mexican vote with an endorsement from El Vez (not an Elvis impersonator, but an Elvis translator) He's never been to Spain, so don't call him a Hispanic. He's a Mexi CAN, not a Mexi CAN'T; etc. I miss Bill, Elton and Betty.

James,
That's easy. All of the candidates have had rallies at public schools. I believe Obama held one in a New Hampshire school the night before their primary. If I'm not mistaken, I saw an article on politico.com earlier about McCain speaking at a school in Tennessee today. Plus, I've worked 5 campaigns since 2000. Trust me, this is nothing new. In fact, it's so common that it's not even a point of contention on either side of the aisle of the political world. So, yes, that was a red herring. Maybe you should educate yourself before leaving such pompous comments.

ps. I don't call HRC "Hilldebeast" because I'm "on her bandwagon"...think about it for a second.

devilsadvocate:

I was speaking in favor of this sort of thing happening at a school. If you actually read my post (and understand sarcasm) you'll see I was making fun of the idea that you could think this was a bad thing.

Honestly, engaging young people in the political process is a good thing.

I'm sorry, JK. I understood your comment. I got yours confused with Nemo's. My statement was meant for James and Nemo, not you.

devilsadvocate - Might I ask what your roll was when "working" 5 campaigns? Apparently this is your life, politics that is. I ask because I wonder why you would spend so much time reading political sites and dedicating so much of your personal time to others ambitions. My opinions and views are a product of my own interpretation. They may not be right or be missing some of your "expert" knowledge, but they are mine. From what I'm seeing your opinions are shaped by what you read and by whichever candidate your working for. Give me a original argument - right or wrong I don't care. Give me a reason you are for or against anything that I haven't already heard from the media or one of the many political sites you say you frequent.

I never claimed to be an expert. I'm still a rookie in the political world. But, I've done field operations, opposition research, and finance for campaigns (those are fancy words for a bunch of boring, yet stressful jobs...ah, the glamorous world of politics...haha). And, yes, I'm a political junkie. I do read quite a bit about political and social issues. I'm not sure why you think it's a bad thing to base and/or alter my opinions on issues relevant to new information, but that may just be an area in which we agree to disagree. I don't usually have my opinions shaped by the people I work for. I usually choose who I would prefer to work for based on how similar we are on issues, or in a couple of cases, my desire to defeat their opponent. If you think I believe everything I read, see, or hear, how do you account for the fact that I listen to Rush, Hannity, and Beck, and my bookshelf contains books ranging from Michael Moore to Ann Coulter? I'm a skeptic. You can't just make your case to me, you have to prove it to me. I need facts, figures, and statistics in order to make a decision.

You want a truly original opinion that I have yet to hear anywhere besides my own mouth? I don't want Hillary to win because I'm disgusted by the divisive nature of modern-day politics. After the deep rift in the nation after the last 15 years of Bush and Clinton, we need someone who can cut through the crap and start rebuilding a functional government instead of one party trying to block the other party every step of the way. Anyone that thinks we'll get that with Hillary is likely very mistaken.

How is Hillary responsible for partisan stalemate? Hillary has a track record in the Senate of reaching across the isle to work effectively with Republicans on various issues important to the American people. Obama supporters cannot fault her for this skill, then turn around and say she's divisive and cannot work with Republicans but he can. The stalemate of the last decade has been because the Republican leadership from the White House down has insisted on a "my way or the highway" mentality. In my opinion, if you want that to stop, you've got to put all of government back into Democratic hands for a while and punish that kind of mentality.

James,

Here is an article promoting a book by one of the producers of your opinions and views.

"Allen Raymond, a former Republican National Committee operative, shares . . .>

And he isn't the first Lee Atwater and the CREEP alumni have been shaping your opinions since before Rove made his "bones" in the Segretti family, before Liddy ever even warmed his fingers over a candle and Ollie decided his personal belief overrode his oath.

However, you'll just disregard it as "liberal" leftwing rhetoric. To recall Santayana "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

P.S. Click on the handle for the article

devilsadvocate - I have a new respect for you.
docholliday - unless your a professor of politics for some prestigious university and politics is your expertise, I suggest you find a hobby.

I do James. Several, in fact, golf, art, reading, history . . . But lately, its holding a mirror up to deluded CCRRR and Bushevik lemmings so they can contemplate themselves.

I know, I know, even Bob Woodward's daughter found it boring to actualy learn history that made her father famous and started the GOP on it's present spiral to the worst in U.S. politics . . . So just ignore history, but George Santayana has a nasty habit of bedeviling those who ignore the past . . . So stick to the Faux News fairy tales . . .
