Lucky you. I'd like to be at the Buena Vista right now, enjoying an Irish coffee.

Tuff gig, man. Why don't you forget about the web and run on up there to Stinson Beach and snag me some more photos to work with??? That's the spot where I got started with making art prints and damn near drowned when the tide came in on me. What the hell's an Arkie s'posed to know about tides and such?

Rick, Did you ever make it just south of Stinson (about half a mile) to the beach/campground Steep Ravine.. where you could see the Golden gate in clear weather? Lots of spots where warm water springs come up through the sand.. Anyway.. I spent many many days and nights working on collage photography assignments in exactly the same location.. Nothing quite like lugging heavy 4X5's around those cliffs in the fog or the back of a motorcycle.
small small world..

Yeah...that's what I said to my wife the first time she caught me looking at porn on the Internet tubes. I think the site was named Daddy's Pigtail Pets or something like that. Anyway....she didn't buy it for a second....the woman has never bought anything for a second. Next wife is going to be Twyla from the Alma Truck Stop.....never marry an intelligent woman....never!

For those interested in seeing the federal statute the Jonesboro kid was prosecuted under here it is:
(g) It shall be unlawful for any person -
(1) who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable
by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
(2) who is a fugitive from justice;
(3) who is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled
substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances
Act (21 U.S.C. 802));
ALSO, HERE IS THE DEFINITION:
21 U.S.C. § 802. Definitions.
As used in this subchapter:
(1) The term "addict" means any individual who habitually uses
any narcotic drug so as to endanger the public morals, health,
safety, or welfare, or who is so far addicted to the use of
narcotic drugs as to have lost the power of self-control with
reference to his addiction.

Another night
Another debate
SAME OLE SHIT
Jethrine was wearing a bright red Santa Clause jacket with sparkles all over it, all she needed
was a big silver bow on top of her head and she would make a perfect Christmas tree.
Lordy!!!! can't someone get that woman (?????????) out of red?????

That Van Halen picture is sad. Why can't Rock bands quit...never mind.
Hey jazzy...I'm far from a style guru (just don't care/to each his own), but I don't think Janet, red and sparkles are a winning team. The wine, bread, apple and cheese I had for supper was delicious (best cheese I've had in awhile). But some okra, tomatoes, beans, potatoes and greens would've been better!

Max,
If you have an extra day on the way back, I highly recommend a day trip down the coast to Carmel-By-The-Sea. It is the Niagara Falls of the California for newly weds for good reason, scenery, atmosphere, food and drink. It is a place not to be missed.
I look forward to returning again.

ES,
I don't recall that place. Although I was (oddly) sober, and with an 11 year old tagging along, I was aimlessly roaming the PCH and didn't really know where I was most of the time. Stinson Beach, Muir Beach, and a bunch of places that were just wide places in the road, really. Glad I didn't have to lug a 4x5. But I'd sure like to have those negs instead of the 35's I got. I'd love to see some of your pix though.

hobojoe...isn't it amazing how we've got so many catch-all laws that prosecutors never run out of ways to get an individual 'they' know is guilty...of something. And, according to all the TV crime shows just saying 'Patriot Act' allows prosecutors/police to do whatever the hell they want.

Carmel is beautiful, awesome. Hotels have bikes, for guests, to peddle around the area.
Guess I'll call it a day, lay my bod down, turn on radio and see what the wingers are saying
tonight.
Another debate trw night, maybe an ice storm moving in, will Bill come to the Spa............
like Scarlet said, "I'll worry about it tomorrow."
Bon Nuit, friends.

Hobojoe,
One of the more creative prosecutions was when Jim Guy Tucker was convicted under a law that no longer existed and the conviction was upheld on appeal.

What happened to the Arkansas Blog archives? I was trying to go back and find something I'd read a few days ago but I can't find a way to get postings more than a day or two old that are on the main blog page. Searching the website didn't help. Suggestions anyone?

I must have been blind--I found the archives links on the left of the blog home page. As Emily Latella always said on Saturday Night Live after making a fool of herself--"Never Mind"!

I think if you check the record you will find that JGT was prosecuted for an act that was not illegal at the time it was committed. How it was upheld is a mystery to me. However, having a friend or two who was hounded and prosecuted by Kenneth Starr it is easy to understand how intimidation and threats can make a jury, prosecutor and judge go in unusual directions. .
I strongly recommend "The Starr Chamber" by John Wilkes to aid in understanding the unconstitutional
acts of Starr and his thugs.

We should' have known the Bush screwing was coming when Tucker was prosecuted for an act that wasn't illegal at the time it occurred. It should have given us a clue as to what a Republican presidency was going to look like, act like. But I actually thought the Constitution prohibited retrograding our legal system to fit partisan agendas...but then I thought Congressional approval was required for Treaties, torture was unconstitutional and that people had to be convicted of something to be detained forever...silly me.
It was Swiss gruyere (sp?) cheese, jazzy, and it was outstanding with the crusty bread/apple/wine..mmm. Yeah, I usually cook pinto beans but every now and then switch to northern or butter bean. I'm thinking French onion soup with melted gruyere and a salad for tonight.
