Morning Huck
THE RACIAL DIVIDE: Sometimes, Brummett says, the same words can be heard different ways by different audiences. After a day of wrangling on the racial front, Obama joined Hillary in a call for a truce.
LUNKER LANDED: Ray Scott endorses Mike Huckabee. He's apparently a big bass fisherman.

Brummett misses completely. a rarity for him.
whenever a candidate, especially a front-runner, is of a particular gender, race, religion, profession, region, age group, etc.etc.etc. that fact will be used by and for that candidate, as well as against by his/her competitors. that's just politics. the "trick" is to do it without being seen to be doing it.
that is where HRC political tone-deafness shows prominently.
HRC will improve on the campaign trail, time and context will change, and events will conspire to make the issues being debated in the winter/spring of 2008 nearly irrelevant by election day.

"...that approximately 298 million Americans have no idea who Ray Scott is. "
Make that 298 million and one.

Those great freedom lovers in Kuwait & Saudi Arabia.
I'm so old, I remember when our history teacher proudly told us that the US was the 'arsenal of democracy', and we kids swelled with pride. The lying little deserter is off galivanting around the Middle East trading weapons to the above deomcracies, i.e. Saudi Arabia & Kuwait for bailing out our failed institutions.
I am ashamed of everything that has happened in the last 7 years.
Shame

msm trumpets that the economy is now issue #1 with the american electorate and then Kabul and Beirut explode (literally)
kinda curious how consistent the headlines are that serve to focus attention on CiC/Military/Foreign Policy issues versus "others".
a bombing here and there, an assassination, arms deals, even a 'monkey' on the radio, all while rome burns from the inside out.

Tell me one country in the ME that we are not arming to the teeth? At my name are several quick views of what each country thinks of America, Americans, and what percentage of each country perceive US to be a military threat? Even our so called allies, such as Turkey.. America has a 9 percent approval rating, Americans 13 percent approval..and 77 percent perceive us to be a military threat? 63 percent of Kuwaities (sp?) perceive us to be a threat. Lebanon rates us the highest (46 percent) yet we supplied a whole lot of cluster bombs to Israel to bomb the hell out of them in late Summer '06. (another war crime)
WIth the rise in oil prices our tripled price at the pump we are financing (free to them due to the high prices) an armed ME and transferring the wealth to those countries who will turn around and buy us.. our major companies and our land... All the while initiating the next world war in a manner that starts war over there but definitely makes us the most culpable and the most hated.
Why the heck are we arming everyone? Including our so called enemies, all who fear and distrust (even vehemently hate) us in overwhelming majorities?
The bombs may be real over there.. but they will be able to cut us off at the pump.. which will lead to devastating results here. they could also cut off our banks and other major industries.. most of us will starve to death. They need no bombs if they own us, control our energy..and decide to cut us off.
Frankly we will deserve it considering our actions over the last couple of decades in re our energy and military policy.

"the same words can be heard different ways by different audiences."
Like (from Wikipedia): At 10 a.m. on October 3, 1995, after only three hours of deliberation and in front of an estimated 150 million American television viewers, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.

speaking of money and Huckabee, does anyone else find it curious that he "earned" as much money last year in speaking fees and book sales as he has raised in campaign contributions this year?
one would think after the "miraculous" victory in Iowa and Huckabee's continuing high polling status, that 'Christian Dollars' would be 'falling from the Heavens' ?

Well that does it. If ole Ray Scott hisself is endorsing the Huckster, let me in on this deal. BTW, the last thing I can recall Ray endorsing was "Western Auto stores". Anybody remember those either? I think that speaks sufficiently to HIS relevance.
