Not many were shocked when Curtis Lavelle Vance was found guilty last week of capital murder, rape, residential burglary and theft of property in the October 2008 beating death of KATV anchor Anne Pressly.

Instead of hating Obama, maybe this blog should wonder why Hillary ran a campaign that bordered on silly at times and also reminded everyone of the things they don't like about the Clintons. They bring a lot of great qualities to the table but they play fast and loose with the truth and Bill gets corrupted way too easily. )Go read how he handled the president of Kazakhstan, for example.)
I, for one, was very open to Hillary as a candidate but I had forgotten about the level of drama that comes with the Clintons. Hillary's campaign reminded me of that.

"the level of drama", wtf.
This "Is he the ONE' bit is the most dramatic thing to come out of the Demo party in decades. Max just points out how unoriginal it is and other themes. If Oby can govern as well as he can act then where do I send my contributions. This is national theatre and makes the Clintons look like local Little Theatre.

Is this satirical? The part about the Matrix and "the one"? If anyone thought that WASN'T from the Matrix, they are living in a cave. "The one" has just become a part of the national lingo--is this video trying to cite that as plagiarism?? This video seems more like it's trying to discredit the issue rather than side with Clinton...
And Max, why no posts on the 527s hired to do Clinton's dirty work?

I'm supporting Obama, but I'm certainly open to honest criticism of him (light on specifics, limited experience, etc.). That said, I'm not sure I get the point of most of this video. Is the word "bamboozled" off limits to everyone now that it's been used in a movie? If a supporter makes a statement in support of Obama that seems to resonate with people, he should never repeat it?
About the only thing there that strikes me as being a problem is the section he lifted from the former governor of MA. He definitely should have credited him there, but the bulk of the video seems to be non-issues to me. Would any of these instances be a big deal to Clinton supporters if the roles were reversed?

Damn. I even voted for McGovern. But it's McCain for me, now. Either him or the Paris Hilton/Brittany ? ticket. Yeah, maybe them.

Yawn . . . .
The producers of this piece really hurt their credibility with the comparisons to movies. I haven't even been a supporter of Sen. Obama and I know he is using a rhetorical device common in the black church, if not on the mainstream stump. Where's the beef?*
Seems little different to me than if he had said "Go ahead, make my day" without attribution. Or "Fasten your seatbelts; it's going to be a bumpy ride." Or "If you vote for John McCain you're going to regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But soon. And for the rest of your life."
Yawn. Does anybody think stump speeches are all fresh? Especially when speaking extemporaneously, as it appeared Sen. Obama was in some of the examples, stuff comes to mind -- from whence, who knows at the time.
Sloganeering worked for the other guys. Remember "It's morning again in America"?
Now that dancing thing. That could hurt. Reminds me of Dukakis in a tank. Except understanding dancing doesn't really have anything to do with the presidency.

See......I bought a Pinto. I was excited about New Coke©! I have 3 BetaMax© players in my attic with a 1500 dollar, in 1983 dollars, Beta video camera with it. I've read The Bridges of Madison County© and Message in a Bottle©. I paid to see an M. Night Shyamalan movie and felt cheap as I walked out the door.
We all own useless junk that we bought because we were bamboozled© by slick advertising. Experts can give the average person a suitcase full of smooth words and beautifully turned phrases. We can be the ones© that amaze even ourselves if we're outfitted with fancy talk packaged by pitch masters. The very sad thing is that Just Words© can sometimes be.....Just Words unless they're spoken by a human determined to make them real.
And this is why I pick Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama. Dull old experience over beautifully packaged and delivered rhetoric. Because like the eye color of Jesus, exactly what Barack Obama can and will do as President cannot be known until we see it with our own eyes.
I'm older now and I take fewer chances. I just want to feel safe again...safe from my government, I'll worry about Osama at a later date. To me the idea of Hillary and Bill coupled with Barack and John Edwards all together as a team, feels very safe. And don't get me wrong, I don't love any of them, they're politicians and we're trying to figure out the best politicians to turn our country over to....this ain't love.
I love Obama's words, but as we're learning, they're really the words of a lot of other people. He is appearing more like a ventriloquist's dummy than a visionary who'll lead us to a brave new world. Can he be trusted to do what his borrowed words say? I don't know and you don't know and that's where we stand today.
As I've been predicting, the worm is slowly turning and Obama's honeymoon with the press is coming to an end. Do not blame Hillary for what the MSN is fixing to do to Obama. Did you blame Obama for the last 2 month's roasting of the Clintons? Obviously, our enemy here at home is as unidentifiable as they are in the sands of Iraq. This time we need to SHOOT THE MESSENGER , because it looks to me it's the messenger that's been FK'ing with us all this time.
Dirty tricks. This is the Year of Dirty Tricks©! If you're shocked today.....just wait till in the morning. If you're disgusted today....just wait till March. Buck up....Bone up....fasten your seatbelt and if you've never used your brain before.....USE IT NOW! Our job is simple. Rid the government of Republicans and assemble a team of Democrats to rescue this nation and the world here in the final minutes.
FK End Times. FK the Rapture. FK Israel. Good government is our goal. And let me borrow from civil rights activist Alice Wine, Keep Your Eyes On the Prize©!

I bet you couldn't make such a video starring any other politician you desperately wanted to stop thrashing you among the electorate. Certainly not one starring Hillary Clinton. Oh, wait... you could? Click on name!

The country may be under a new spell, I really don't know.. I prefer issues, but, the guy is not stealing, he is borrowing, honoring even, many ideas as well as the people at large in much of his oration..it's not about him and he doesn't seem to be lying about that.
I just hope the people who are cheering loudest understand what they have ahead of them if they want to nnot only elect this man but get somethings "changed".
Hillary, Mike, and John... all sound absolutely insincere..and their records say they are too..much more than this man.

Don't be too sure of that dude. We're in a very dumbed-down generation. Mostly they don't read and few have any sense of history. If they didn't see it on the vids or the movies, it doesn't matter or it didn't happen.

Using phrases that creep into the culture is not a vice. My concern is more with who are the people he is personally relying on to feed him his lines? What does this say about his ability to select Cabinet members for example. He is relying on the old and new Left for his primary support. What will be thier ideological demands in the general election and [highly unlikely] if he gets the Presidency? Those are questions we need answers to before his coronation as Democrat Savior.
