Huckstering the Caymans
You know Mike Huckabee is jetting down to the Cayman Islands for a paid speech this weekend at a Young Caymanians Leadership Conference.
For the record, here's his statement of financial interest for 2001. I have looked but can't find he reported a speaking fee or a gift of travel to attend the event. Perhaps he flew on his own dime and spoke for free.
What do you think?
PS -- A Caymanian newspaper isn't so happy about Huckster cracks about offshore banking.
PPS -- Cayman National, the islands' biggest banking concern and also an operator on the Isle of Man, another tax haven, is apparently the sponsor of the event at which Huckabee will speak.

Comments
Mike ( I mean "Freddy" ) speak for free? I doubt it. I sincerely doubt it.

Did you catch the Huckster's whine on the news today. How he, as a taxpayer was paying the salaries of elected officials who are also running for President, officials who were not performing their elected duties. The gall of that man and a short memory doesn't mention how the taxpayers of Arkansas paid for him to run for President. Even paid his salary before he was a candidate, merely 'exploring' via his PAC registered in Virginia. Not to mention the use of a state plane that he wore out during his tenure.
But notice Huckabuck is starting to show his thin skin now, a bit testy he is.

I think I'll have large squishy breasts like Pamela Anderson before Huckabee does a damn thing for free. Fly on his own dime? Does a Mormon shit thru special magic body underwear in the woods? Oh, wait...they do.
Now comes the fun part of Huck You watching. This is where the real circus begins. Mikee is the guest that wouldn't leave. He's the Republican cold sore in the corner of your mouth that refuses to go away. He's walking talking herpes with reoccurring outbreaks for the next 20 years. He's out-Asa-ing Asa!
Time to get out the want ads and start looking for a job....and that goes for the entire Huckabuck family!
Huckabees to the left of me. Huckabees to the right........Jesus how do you get rid of the Huckabees?

I think had he ever become a serious contender there would have been an IRS audit down the road.
If Hillary wins there may be anyways.

Well, I'll tell you what I think. From reading other blog (not this one) comments from people who don't know the Huckster like we do, he has sure pulled the wool over their eyes. Gosh, they applaud him for wanting to earn a paycheck to pay his mortgage.......while the other candidates are earning a government paycheck.......do these idiots not see the irony?
Ya know, I try not to hate anyone, but it's hard not to hate fools.
I think anybody with an IQ over 70 who still supports the Republican party is either sick in the head or protecting their own interests at the expense of the rest of the American people.
After 7 long years of Bush, my God, the fish rots from the head, and the stink surrounds every Republican voter.
Republicans.........stay away from me, thank you very much. I am much too tired from helping with the tornado clean-up for a week to put up with any more BS.
Huck can do what he has to do, I just hate the thought of his family and friends getting unemployment checks from my tax money.
I guess that's my rant for the day.
Go Hillary! Go Obama!

Oh, how I wish I was the speaker, or at least, one of the entourage. The Caymen's are beautiful. Wish I had the $$$$ to live there.

I notice Huckabee said he is giving paid speech to the Young Caymanians Leadership Conference.
I assume this is true.
Of course - because condor is not his strong suit ( his strong suit is actually acquiring free suits) he doesn't say "I'm being paid to speak by Cayman National, an off-shore tax shelter." I assume that is who is really funding his speech, could be wrong.
Maybe he can get a job down there selling time-shares or something else he is more suited to than running the country.

Until Monkeyboy's Royal Reign I had all the patience in the world with my non-lib friends/family, blueridge, (which is most of em); and I subscribed to the belief that there were other things to talk about other than politics/religion...to keep the peace. But, like you, blueridge, I now want them to either keep their mouths shut or to stay the hell away from me. What Monkeyboy and his goofy, cult-like followers have done to the world our country is so far beyond 'politics as usual' that I have NO patience with their evil Republican ways. It was one thing when we were arguing about balanced budgets, or a woman's right to choose or the viability of SS...but Cheney/torture/war and the trashing of our Constitution are not 'politics as usual.'

And...ya got to wonder about an island 'gang' that pays big bucks to import Huck's wisdom. But it'd be nice if they'd keep him.
