The CAD program is hot, so I can relax tomorrow and my compendium of the Eagles are on in the headphones. Its progressing well. I've had worse Saturday evenings.
Cheese dip and the Jamie Foxx/Jennifer Garner movie about Saudi, terrorism and human nature. (It's so nice to click the TV control and get a movie...no more late charges, ya!) Chicken enchiladas sound better, but...too much effort ha.
...always a dog near by... wanting rubbed. I love my dog(s)!
A can of Vienna sausages and crackers and a Miller Genuine Draft. Wife has gone to Austin for 4 days to visit # 3 son. TV boring. Have worked my racing form for tomorrow over and over til I have it memorized. Hogs lost a tuff one today. Heavy rains keep me from venturing out. Weather channel is blah.
Stir fry chicken curry and fresh hot ginger bread for whatever movie I select on TIVO or the old bank of DVD's on the shelves. Heavy rains in NWA keeping things damp enough to justify a fire in the fireplace Restless animals who would much rather be outside.. I need to look into this Netflix option.
Went to The River for cheeseburgers and cold Sam Adams. Now watching DVDs of The Simpsons. Sample line:
"I shouldn't have served those North Korean fortune cookies. Mine said, 'You are a coward.'" That line made me laugh so hard I could barely breathe. But I'm easy...
Oh, heck, no battery operated sex toys tonight, too much electricity bouncing around to
take a chance.
Rain coming down in buckets in the Spa, I unplug and replug, even tho' I bought a $70 main
plugy thang that is suppose to stop a surge that would blow up my 'puter,,,,,I don't take
chances.
Pot of hamburger soup, hot cornbread, cinnamon rolls with a glaze,,,,PBS on t.v., beautiful
hubby getting me another glass of wine, too hyper to watch a movie, two teenagers in guest
bedroom, prob'ly having sex, but, I'm too tired to interfere.
I picture a blog as a big room with lots of geeks sitting at long tables and the head geek, Max,
sitting in the big high backed chair passing judgement on what gets on and what is tossed....
Cato, pass; DBI, pass; Zelda, pass; Eureka Springs, pass; eLWood, pass
Jazzy, pass, 'cause she is the oldest person on this blog and by golly old enough to say, do or
think anything I damn well please.
Now this thing about the teenagers, jazzy......could you give us a little better analysis for the basis of your conclusions as to their activities? Did all the neighborhood dogs start barking? That's evidence for sure!!!

Cato, you always judge the fruits of love by the peels. Just so the fledglings don't leave their peels tossed under the bed to clog up the vacuum.
Oh and for dinner: Spicy spinach omelets (we use fertilized free range eggs) with Ezekiel l bread toast,
cinnamon stewed apples, hot ginger-peppermint tea and grilled Hebrew National franks. Simple to fix, great tastin.
Eureka, you do need to look into one of the "movies to your mailbox" options.
Netflix vs. Blockbuster
We used Blockbuster for the last couple of years. One great thing about BB is that after you watch your delivered movie you can take it to the brick & mortar Blockbuster (5 minutes from casa del mann) and trade it for another one, without having to wait on the mail. I think you can also print out a coupon each month for another movie from the storefront.
Then we switched to Netflix a couple months ago. The turnaround time is MUCH shorter with Netflix, as I believe they have a hub here in LR or at least nearby (didn't I hear that on this blog?). No brick & mortar NF anywhere, however there are some 6000 titles "on demand" which you can view right from your computer. I was skeptical of that "on demand" feature when wifey was selling me on the switch, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of audio/video and the ease and speed of download--maybe five seconds.
I love watching movies at home but I HATE going to the movie store, especially when I'm not sure what I want. Either service lets you browse on-line and place your choices in your queue.
hugh mann - Thanks for the info. I live at least an hours drive (one way) from the nearest BB, and 25 mins (one way) from the local video store. 5 Secs, sounds amazing! Will check that out asap..
Who is Jermain Taylor and what kind of music does she sing? Is she from Arkansas and does she always lose in beauty pageants?
From All-Republican Benton County Doug Thompson reports on yet another government that doesn't work after repeated warnings of problems. Seems party identification trumps competence up in Wingnutville:
Warning Goes Unheeded
Benton County Ignored Problems
The Benton County Tax Collector's office has problems. The county received warnings about those problems from state auditors long before the latest snafu.
Courthouse tax collection may not sound exciting. Well, when and if somebody messes up your tax account, dear reader, be assured that you'll find it thrilling.
Here's The Morning News' sum-up of the latest known error: "The Benton County Tax Collector's Office overpaid thousands of dollars in tax funds to local cities and a volunteer fire department in 2007. Now the county wants its money back."

Cato,,cuz when they ask if they can close the door so they can play their music (??????)
loud plus they are 18 and 19 year olds.....enough said???????????????????????????????
my dogs remain firmly convinced that, just because it's raining on the patio out back where it's fenced, it will be rain-free if the human puts on her rain gear and their leashes and the yorkie's raincoat (she just moved in with us, I dont ask her questions) and take them out front.
this has never worked, but they remain firm in their belief. Every dog I've ever had held to this theory. Just so I'd have to stop whatever I was doing, usually working, and take them out on leashes rather than go out on the patio. sometimes I do and sometimes I just snatch them up and put them out the patio door. oh, a cruel life indeed............
But thats what we did last night for entertainment. I worked till 9 and then went through all that with the dogs. got an email from a friend i hadnt heard from in a long time and we visited back and forth a bit. I dont exactly live an exciting life around here. Tried to read the lead article in the Southwest Times Record about the Fort Smith po-lice chief being fired but had to take contacts out.
We now have a terrier mix who walked into our garage last May. He's mostly Skye terrier and unlike most dogs we've had. (The time I spent between Lucky and BB is the first time I've ever not had a dog...but I think the heart takes longer to heal the older it gets.) He's got a sensitive digestive system (inflammatory bowel stuff is what the vet says); whereas all my other strays could eat ANYTHING and in huge quantities. I was born loving animals and really LOVING dogs. They speak to me (and it's usually 'take me home, take me home' ha); and they represent the best we animals have to offer the world.
I had a mongrel who wouldn't go outside if it was raining. And she wouldn't hide it...she'd look outside, look at us and squat...as if to say...'deal with it.'
I did buy rubber boots for my dogs one year...stupid human.
One of the disadvantages of Emma being a mostly outside dog is that when she's inside and needs a trip out, she could care less if it's raining, cold, etc.
Mr. EY and I had a wonderful time out braving the weather last night. Saigon for dinner, I had pho (the second half of which I just finished) and he had some kind of meat, seafood and veggie dish. Both were wonderful. Went to Crush afterward for a glass of wine.
Took in another basketball game last night. Watched Yewler lose a tough one to a damn good UNO team whose coach appears to be all of 16, Shared nachos w/my 6 year old nephew for dinner and had a simply lovely time.
When the final buzzer went off nephew collapsed to the floor, so distraught was he. The tall black gentleman at whose feet he laid in repose asked me, "What's wrong w/him?"
"He's a knucklehead." I replied as I lifted nephew's inert self up by his armpits.
