So, NOW will he quit?
Mitt Romney endorses John McCain. Huck's headed to the Caribbean. Maybe now he doesn't need to come back.
Unconfirmed rumor yesterday was that the Huckabee campaign was advising people who'd made loans of equipment that they could pick it up.
Huck's statement:
Former Arkansas Governor and Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee has issued the following statement in response to Gov. Mitt Romney's endorsement of Sen. John McCain: "This goes to show there is a lot of 'me too' going on in the party, I just happen to be the leader of the "not me" crowd. There are those from the Beltway and those of the party establishment who believe its time for the Republican Party to pull together, but there are still a lot of voices that have not been heard. This election should be about choices and voices, and not a coronation. Until someone receives 1,191 delegates, the verdict is not in."

I'm sure James wants his contributions refunded too...that is if Huck quits which means there is no more Republican Show while Magic Barack steals even more of the limelight.

I wonder if Huckabee isn't hurting his chances of VP nomination now if he stays in...it paints him in the negative light of being a holdout against McCain.
Before, it seemed like he was trying to get enough delegates to prove his worth as a ticket builder.
His best bet would be to lay low for a week or two then follow Romney's lead. If both of McCain's major rivals were to give up their bids to endorse him, it would be very powerful in uniting the Republican base.
Of course, I hope he doesn't do this because I think McCain (Bush 3) presidency would be disasterous for our country.

Did Jesus run off to talk at the beach at Aqaba at the critical hour before Good Friday? No! He rode his ass into Jerusalem to face the music.
So much for the WWJD aspect of the Huckabee campaign.
But we knew that Huck takes all the Bible literally except that part about how you can't serve both God and Mammon. There he takes exception with holy writ.

Carrick, excellent post. However the bible do get tricky. There's the god-mammon bit but there's the bit about spreading the good news (gospel) to the four corners of Earth and one supposes they are to take it to other planets as they become colonized. Recall Huck's pitch for getting our Constitution in alignment with the almighty's word, making our secular document fit into the framework of the baptist theology.

I suggest we ignore these used up old white men and pay attention to the US House of Representatives, who unlike the bought and paid for Senate are still fighting the good fight against Bush's loaded renewal of the FISA act. No rolling over and showing Bush their belly for the US House.
Hurray for the US House....and skipping Boozman who's voting finger is wired thu his ass to Bush's desk....how will Arkansas's other Reps be voting on the FISA bill?

And one more thing. Did you see the Republican anti-torture candidate Grandpa Munster McCain voted against banning waterboarding yesterday? Mr. We Shall Not Torture Because I've Been Tortured voted to let Bush continue torturing.
I've said a hundred times, forget what McCain says, look at the votes he casts. Lying old sack......how horrible it must be to be a Republican today!

I missed that, DBI, do you mean to tell me that McCain is FOR torture? I have said it before and I'll repeat it now. McCain is mentally ill.

As Allah is my witness, BlueRidge, McCain voted Wednesday against the bill that bans waterboarding. He explained there was no need for this new law since there are already laws on the books that make waterboarding illegal. Well, Honest John......since Mr. Magoo admitted the US did indeed waterboard 3 people in the past....apparently the laws he's talking about AREN'T working!
This is classic McCain....say one thing, vote another. It's the votes that count. Apparently there are no living good Republicans to be found to run....so they trot out lying, senile, old Bob Dole II and expect American voters to be stupid enough to vote for him. Waterboard McCain!
