St. Huck -- UPDATE
The Washington state Republican chairman did all he could to make a martyr of Mike Huckabee by shutting down voting in a close caucus Saturday with 13 percent of the votes not counted. Under intense pressure -- including a phone call from Huckabee lawyer/paid staffer/daughter-in-law Lauren -- the state party resumed counting ballots today. With about half of the uncounted votes done, it looks like John McCain will retain his lead.
UPDATE: The Huckster is riding this for all it's worth, comparing Washington to the Soviet Union. He's got a point, of course. But there's a deeper point here, too. Caucuses are crazy. They are lightly attended -- fewer than 20,000 will decide the state of Washington. I think about 400 decided the Democratic caucus in Alaska.. Caucuses take a long time, which discourages attendance by working people, particularly when they conflict with shifts. They are tailor-made for highly devoted groups of super-partisans, but not so great on democracy. I prefer primaries.

Like others have said, this is about as poetic as it gets: Republicans screwing with Republicans' votes ha! Of course it's outrageous...us libs are still screaming about our stolen elections. But Huck was born a martyr when he picked up his Evangelical credentials...why blacks/women have nothing on the downtrodden, persecuted pooor white Evangelicals...sheesh.
But imagine how sweet it'll be when Hillary (or Obama) start wielding all those post-9/11 powers that Monkeyboy was granted...or stole. Can you imagine the right-wing screams if Hillary/Obama used signing statements to retain un-Constitutional. King-like powers...they'd pop what veins were left from the Inaugural popping. SWEET! (Of course, I expect and demand that our candidate NEVER use that horrid Congressional bypass like President Shit for Brains...EVEN against Republicans)
Go Hillary!

Well I guess this does Huck in and real good. Looks like McCain will keep his FIVE HUNDRED DELEGATE lead.
Glad you're back Miss Z. How did you enjoy our hill country?

I've come to love Fayetteville, eLwood...mainly because of its Courthouse market and the people's love of dogs (I even overlook the Razorbacks, ha). But I'd have fun anywhere my child/family were. We're still looking for some good non-Dickson street restaurants, though.
I'm keep hoping Huck whoops McCain....then hubby reminds me that we thought there was no way in hell that Monkeyboy would be President.
