Vacation home

Philip Besonen, a retired UA faculty member, is a featured essayist in the New York Times today on the getaway cottage he built for himself -- in his backyard. I was surprised to learn from this of the Scandinavian Society of Northwest Arkansas, among other things.

Every guy needs a man-shed. That's a cool one.

I have no idea if it is at all connected to the Scandinavian Society of NWA but between Mountain View and Clinton (if it still exists after the tornado) there is a subdivision that is Nordic or something of that theme. Rumor around Mt View is that visitors from Norway, or Finland can rent one and a car for visits to Mt View.

Supposedly the Nordic like hillbilly (oops folk) music.

I want one!!

Not everything up here is UA-chickens-school sex and wingnuts.

The local paper covered this as it was being constructed and then finished.
I've been to two homes in Eureka Springs which have mokkis.

The way Mr. & Mrs. Besonen still act after a zillion years of marriage, that man-shed is probably their little love nest. Go Joan & Phil!
