Despite the fact that it's basically impossible for Clinton to win, barring an assassination of Obama, she insists at staying in the race. Egomaniac.
What she says:
---------
"I know there are some people who want to shut this down and I think they are wrong," Clinton said in an interview during a campaign stop here Saturday. "I have no intention of stopping until we finish what we started and until we see what happens in the next 10 contests and until we resolve Florida and Michigan. And if we don't resolve it, we'll resolve it at the convention -- that's what credentials committees are for."
---------
To the October convention we go, where this will finally be settled! Just in time for a McCain victory.
I won't be voting for her run in 2012.

Or, JD, maybe she thinks she is the best hope for a Democratic win in November. Maybe she really, really wants to fix America, which is going to be a huge undertaking for anyone. Meybe she wants to restore some dignity, pull us out of a senseless war, and get this country back on the right track.
I'm not sure ego has anything to do with it. I think she has a good heart, and that she is in a better position than Obama when it comes to foreign affairs.
Plus, she is married to the most popular, respected Democrat around.
I dunno, but no matter how it shakes out, I am voting Democratic. There is no other choice if you love this country.

The convention will be held in late August and will be over in four days if I remember correctly, JD. If John McCain wins the November election, it won't be because the Democratic contest goes down to the wire. It will be because too many folks will decide to go with what they consider a known quantity, a white male. Personally, I'm leery of Obama's capabilities, but better a neophyte with some common sense than another four years with a dangerous Rethuglican fool. On the other hand, if Hillary should manage the upset of the millennium, I hope her presidency will be better run than parts of her campaign. But if it's uneven, it will still be better than four more Rethuglican years.

Doigotta is correct that the convention is in August, not October.

Maybe it's just me, but I still don't trust Obama.
Perhaps Hillary is hanging in there because she knows of something in Obama's past (or present) that has yet to be aired about him. That is not in the realm of being unrealistic, it is actually being REALISTIC. The man is still pretty much of an unknown.
And, too, I say let the entire country have a chance to vote. If I lived in Pennsylvania, NC, Indiana, or Kentucky, I'd certainly be more than pissed if I thought that I wouldn't have a chance to express my choice for the nomination. (And that is not even considering how I would feel if I lived in Michigan or Florida).

According to Barbara Ehrenreich in The Nation, Mrs Cliton is a member of a fundamentalist, rightwing "prayer group", and has been since 1993. This is a group that has included Sam Brownback and Geroge Allen. The orgination emphasizes the importance of political elites in shaping policy. The "Family" as they are called, has been around since 1940, and started as a pro-Nazi pro-Hitler orginization.
Hillary Clinton has been associated with these people since 1993.
Hillary apologists, please, speak up.

For those of you who might be interested in what I mean in the posting I made immediately preceding this one, let me direct you to an article written by Charles Lipson that can be found on the Realclearpolitics website today entitled "Four Stumps in the Water for Obama."
He lists four issues that have the possibility of haunting Obama in the near future:
1. The volatile mix of race and religion. The name of another Chicago black minister, Rev. James Meeks, is sure to come up soon. Read the article for more info.
2. Obama's ties to Emil Jones. Jones, an Illinois state senator, is the head of the old Springfield "Combine," and Obama owes his ascendency to the U. S. Senate to support from Jones.
3. Tony Rezko. As his trial unfolds and he gets closer and closer to being convicted, what sort of deals will he be willing to make to lighten his sentence that will possibly reflect on Obama?
4. Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn. Now married, these two were member of the Weather Underground who were sent to prison for killing policemen and attempting to bomb the U.S. Capitol. Obama and Ayers have served together on the board of the Woods Fund, a small leftist foundation that has given grants to Rev. Wright's Trinity United Church "in recognition of Barack Obama's contribution of services to the Woods Fund as a director." There is more in the article, but I will let the reader judge it for himself.
Yes, there are numerous reasons why Hillary should not dare consider dropping her quest for the Democratic Party nomination for the Presidency of the United States. Obama's past has not completely been scrutinized well-enough yet and she knows it.

Watching the story of John Adams on HBO brings up all kinds of feelings within me. As a nerdy little boy full of Presidential facts instead of baseball statistics, it's been very hard on me watching the office of President turn into nothing more than a snake pit of evil and corruption. I was fool enough to believe for 3/4s of my life that Presidents were made of better stuff than the common men around them.
The last 10 years have made me so cynical that I dare not believe in a Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. I still find myself more willing to have another dose of the Clintons because I remember those good years. I've never believed in perfection, nothing in my own life is perfect. My cars are old, my furniture is worn, my old house is showing many signs of extreme old age.
I don't ask for perfection out of any politician or body of government. My fondest wish is that they contain just a tad more good than they do evil. I figure thats the best we can hope for. Now we have a man before us who yells CHANGE and says he will be the instrument of change. And I daily ask myself am I fool enough to believe him. Can I forget the recent past enough to dare to believe in the promises of another politician telling us after all the gut-wrenching failures, stupidity, arrogance, lies, dishonesty, torture, warmongering and war profiteering, that he will be different. He will change the direction this country has been going since nearly the very days of John Adams!
It's far worse than Charlie Brown and Lucy and the football. After Lucy jerked the ball away, Charlie Brown wasn't kidnapped, waterboarded or bomb out of existence. Can we dare to believe in Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. or any living person these days? And I think about all this with clear indication that there are those in Washington, DC tonight who will stop the coming election if they can because they do not want to give up this fantastical power they've spent the last 10 years stealing by hook and by crook.....mostly by crook.
I've said several times that this is a repeat of the 1932 election. But there are days when I think our current times more resemble those surrounding the election of Adolph Hitler in 1932 Germany than that of Herbert Hoover or FDR. The people of 1932 Germany didn't know the plans had already been laid. Though Hitler lost the 1932 election, those well laid plans made him Chancellor by the end of January, 1933 without the support of the German people.
Are we in that same situation now and are yet to know it? Few in America remember that Adolph Hitler replaced Kurt von Schleicher as Chancellor in 1933. If we're not very very lucky, in 75 years no one will remember the name Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. either. 2008 will go down in the history books as either the year America started a comeback or the year it all went away forever.

If Obama supporters are so certain
that Obama will win, why do they
care if Hillary stays in? Why is
Obama and his supporters spewing
hate against her if she can't win?
Obama and some in his campaign know
that there's more bad stuff to come.
That's why Hillary is staying in and
it pisses Obama off. His attacks
against her are for personal rather
than strategic reasons. If the shoe
drops before he gets the nomination,
he's toast.
The fact that he's willing to take a
chance of it not coming out between
the nomination and November shows
just how strong his ego is.

Hillary is not staying in for the good of the country or the party. That's ludicrous. If it were true, she'd be crowing about it. We wouldn't stop hearing about it.
She's staying in because 1) fighting is all she knows how to do, and 2) because of ego. She was the anointed one, and she's not anymore.
She'll fight to the end regardless of what it would do to our country or our party. And we see that same characteristic among her supporters. Country be damned, they'll have Hillary or they'll let McCain have it.
I'm sick of the politics of personal destruction. It's going to cost us health care reform and withdrawal from Iraq, to name two biggees.

Mostly I just pray/chant/do some hocus pocus for no more President Shit for Brains and no more of his clone, McCain; but now I'm adding chants for no more of these stupid swiftboating lies. (Perhaps I need to throw in some voodoo...might work better against the right wingers...with their black hearts and all.) Just like ole Barbara, Polecat, ya left out a 'little' information about these dastardly meetings. From the Daily Howler (link/full story at name):
"In 1993, Clinton "joined a Bible study group composed of wives of conservative leaders like Jack Kemp and James Baker." (Absent-mindedly, Ehrenreich omits the names of several Dems in that group.)
In 2001, when she entered the Senate, Clinton began taking part in "the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast, which included, until his downfall, Virginia's notoriously racist Senator George Allen."
She has written that religious honcho Doug Coe is "a genuinely loving spiritual mentor and guide to anyone, regardless of party or faith, who wants to deepen his or her relationship with God."
And of course:
She has displayed a "tormented search for identity, marked by ever-changing hairstyles and names: Hillary Rodham, Mrs. Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and now Hillary Clinton."--Daily Howler
Why, of course, any woman who doesn't keep the same hairstyle/name her entire life has got to be in need of therapy...and a man with a big dick. Barbara Ehrenreich is living proof that the worst sexist pigs are often women.
Of course Obama's gang wishes Hillary would drop out; I wish Obama would step aside into the VP slot...that's just wishes and politics. But the MSM's failure to report the REAL McCain while they're throwing EVERYTHING at Hillary and reporting how many Americans think Obama is a Muslim is telling of just how bad our media has become...guess the Republican plan to place our media in the hands of two/three people is paying off big time. It's like watching the swiftboating of war hero, Kerry, all over again. Who in their right mind would have ever thought that cowardly momma's boy dubya would've come out on top of a real Medal of Honor winner...one who actually went to war rather than hiding from the National Guard behind family connections. (And never mind that while hiding from duty he was busy driving up/down the Texas roads so drunk that his entire Texas driving record had to MYSTERIOUSLY disappear...thank you Gonzales et al...service worthy of the Attorney General slot.) In my wildest political imaginings I never thought something so outrageous could've been pulled off...now it's happening all over again. McCain, another warmongering Republican Military Industrial Legacy, is riding the MSM's lies/omissions all the way to the White House, while every ungodly lie in the book is being thrown at Hillary/Barack. Damn Republicans. May it be your children who have to fight for your war billions. Y'all are as un-American as it gets.

Amen, jazzy, anyone who's buying groceries and paying attention should have sticker shock...and should realize that it's NOT just overeating that's making Americans fat/unhealthy. Little Debbies/cheap chips/sodas are still plentiful, but if you want to feed your family fresh produce/juices, healthy organic products you better get a bank loan. It's just one more widening gap between America's wealthy and America's poor...just like our three-tiered healthcare system (the sky's the limit for the wealthy, the middle class insured get just enough to live and ensure our bank accounts are emptied into insurance/pharmaceuticals' coffers and the poor uninsured MIGHT get scraped off the streets if they're seriously dying...a little dying won't cut it).
