1.              2008- 24479 – RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY, THEFT OF PROPERTY

SUSPECT – GERALD MELTON, W/M, 10-3-1981, 4001 WEST MARKHAM

VICTIM – DALE ANN MCCLELLAN, W/F, 9-29-1952, 2832 MLK DRIVE

INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 3-6-2008

INCIDENT LOCATION – 217 NORTH SPRUCE

ARREST DATE/TIME – 3-6-2008

ARREST LOCATION – 217 NORTH SPRUCE

Officers responded to a suspicious person call in the area of 400 North Jackson and located a white male subject carrying 2 laptop computers and a yard rake walking up to the front door at 217 North Spruce.  This subject was identified as Gerald Melton.  Melton was acting very nervous.  Officers then located property in his residence that had a Little Rock School District property tag on it.  Melton was transported to the Downtown Detective Division. Melton did yard work for someone who lives at 522 North Palm.  After doing the yard work, Melton went to the back of the house and noticed the back door open.  He entered the residence and took the two laptop computers.  Melton was charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of Property and transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail with a hold placed on him for Faulkner County.

2.              2008- 24706 – COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

SUSPECT – BOBBY J. JACKSON, B/M, 12-29-1957, HOMELESS

VICTIM – MCDONALDS, 8011 GEYER SPRINGS

INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 3-7-2008 AT 0152 HOURS

INCIDENT LOCATION – 8011 GEYER SPRINGS

ARREST DATE/TIME – 3-7-2008 AT 0205 HOURS

ARREST LOCATION – 8211 GEYER SPRINGS

Officers responded to an alarm at McDonalds located at 8011 Geyer Springs and observed Bobby Jackson walking through the parking lot carrying a box of items.  Jackson attempted to throw the items away after observing officers.  Officers discovered that Jackson had thrown a rock and had broken the window of the business.  An employee responded and advised the items Jackson had in the box had been taken from the business.  Jackson was charged with Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property.

3.              2008- 24359 – AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, PUBLIC INTOXICATION

SUSPECT – SHARON HANCOCK, B/F, 7-14-1962, HOMELESS

VICTIM – ROBERT JOHNSTON, W/M, 9-11-1940, 2123 BROADWAY

INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 3-6-2008 AT 0905 HOURS

INCIDENT LOCATION – 500 BLOCK OF LAHARPE DRIVE

ARREST DATE/TIME – 3-6-2008 AT 0905 HOURS

ARREST LOCATION – MARKHAM & SPRING

 On 3-6-2008, Robert Johnston stated he was serving food to the homeless at River Front Park when Sharon Hancock approached him, began yelling and cursing at him and refused to leave.  Johnston advised that Hancock appeared to be intoxicated.  He attempted to escort her out of the trailer, but she bit him on the right hand causing it to bleed.  Johnston followed Hancock out of the trailer and she began throwing beer bottles at him, then picked up a four inch metal pipe and came towards him.  Hancock was arrested and transported to Northside where she was charged with Public Intoxication and Aggravated Assault.
