Quote of the day

From Republican Linda Bisbee of Rogers, who is running for the District 95 House seat, in response to opponent Duncan Baird's heated criticism of lobbyist gift-giving to lawmakers:

“I do not believe that’s an issue,” she said. “I think that sometimes a lobbyist will take a legislator out to get their point across and to get time to visit with them, but as far as far as influencing votes, I don’t think that happens.”

Lobbyists influencing votes in the AR Ledge, that paragon of intellect and ethics? Naaaahhhhhh - say it isn't so, Toto!!!

The disdain these nitwits have for the voter is unprecedented AND they keep getting elected. "Asleep at the Wheel" is more than a great band...

So I guess Linda Bisbee is just another Hillary Clinton, running on her husband's name and experience? No wait maybe Janet Huckabee is a better comparison. Here's hoping Mrs. Bisbee meets the same electoral fate as Mrs. Huckabee.

I think any politician taking gifts from a lobbyist that both should be put in jail...
What the dumb thing she said that the lobbyist takes them out to dinner so they can be bribe in private so to speak.
Well our rep. is taking gifts just like it was Christmas everyday.. Jimmy Jeffress I heard takes trip and other prizes all the time.

This is bull crap! Not an issue? Please!
Here's a clue (free of charge because I'm feeling charitable) --- Drive down off your NWA perch and have a cocktail hour visit to the Capiotol Hotel. Votes are being "influenced" all over the place.
Anyone who says that this is a non-issue is both crooked and stupid.

Linda Bisbee is unbelievable. Lobbyists ought not be allowed to buy anything for our legislators. I don't know this Baird person, he's probably a crazy bible beating neo-con, but and least he's honest. DON'T VOTE FOR LINDA BISBEE.

Rogers......there's the key word......Rogers. Of course this Bisbee woman is blowing smoke up our skirts. It's part of the Rogers cult of corruption. She's so steeped in it she doesn't realize she's sittin on the thang that influenced someone to put a roof over her head and a set of car keys in her purse.

Oh my. Perhaps I'm being to rough on this woman. No wait! She a Republican from Rogers.....some cell phone salesman probably slipped her a 50 just to say the lobbyist problem isn't an issue! Is there a way we can skip counting the votes in Rogers this year like Florida and Michigan? Would Oklahoma take Rogers if we bribed them......I mean....bought them dinner?

The BIGGEST lie told by politicians is that campaign contributions have no influence on how they vote.

"Once a man holds public office he is absolutely worthless for honest work."
----Will Rogers

Let's start a new group to oppose Linda Bisbee. We can call it Citizens United Not Timid, a committee to expose the truth of what Linda Bisbee is. C.U.N.T. will stand strong opposing Linda Bisbee's lobbyist largess.

lmao Bob!

Who are all of these vicious Bloggers?? I'm guessing they are saying these really nasty things about Linda Bisbee because they are on Mr. Baird's campaign team.

Linda Bisbee has been dedicated to the good of the Republican party and her personal beliefs for years. She is a truly decent person and not running on her husbands coattails. If anybody thinks that her dignity could be bought with a lobbyist lunch is not only naive but obviously doesn't know the woman. Let's look at the record her and try and keep this nasty namecalling out of the picture. Get a grip.
