The Glasgow case goes national

A New York Post business writer filed today about the case of John Glasgow, the missing chief financial officer of CDI Contractors. (The photo comes from today's Post.) The article focuses on the Dillard Department Stores link. To understand where this article is coming from, in addition to the obvious mystery, it helps to know that Dillard's is known nationally as well as locally for its insular nature. Reporters who've had difficulty communicating with the company are naturally interested in such a story.

Comments
Great. They mentioned the Presidential Library thing.
How long now before the right wing slime machine uses this as another one of those mysterious incidents that point to Hillary being a wicked person?
I'll start my stopwatch and listen.

Today is the day some blogger on this site claims all hell will break loose with this case. Waiting....

Post reporter James Covert has this morning apologized to me for using Arkansas Business' copyrighted material without proper attribution. The online version should shortly be updated to correct that oversight. Arkansas Business is, of course, the "local paper" that managed to get a response from Dillard's (jointly with CDI) -- a minor miracle, as Max rightly suggests. (Arkansas Business also managed to report this story without resorting to unnamed sources.) Our week-old story is available by clicking on my name. Readers curious about the upcoming proxy fight at Dillard's Inc. that the NY Post references would be well served by reading http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=103446.70276.115590.

Actually, Beagles, what I said here on February 14 was, "It'll be solved within a month or less." That was a misstatement.
As I investigated further, I amended that statement on February 28 to read, "revelations in the Glasgow situation via "anonymous" letter or phone call on or around Thursday, March 6th, according to sources. Yes, it will hit the media and be countered with spin six ways from Sunday. But from there on it unravels. And not in a good way." [Still within my original time frame.]
I never stated "all hell will break loose" on or about March 6th: merely that the case hits the media (meaning national media) on that date and begins unraveling from there. As indeed it will.
And in an even earlier post I responded to somebody's query that, "Yes, Dillard's is the right direction" to look.
It's all in the archives.
Yes, this is the promised article that starts the unraveling process.
Or my name isn't Jessica Fletcher.

Norma...the article is basically a repeat of what's already been reported on via Arkansas Business and Arkansas Times (good job to both). Give us some idea of how this "national" attention is going to change the playing field, and will it in fact give the family some answers? How will this start to unravel the case? (Sorry if I'm the only one who hasn't figured out these questions from her posts - I think the cold weather is slowing down my concentration.)
On Feb. 14, it appeared you thought JG was still alive. Do you still think he is?

It's Beagle 1, not that it matters.
I don't see anything at all new in this national story so how does this begin "unraveling from there. As indeed it will."????
I realize you didn't say all hell would break loose. Same difference though, and if you notice those were my words not yours...I didn't "quote" you. If you know something, why not just say it here???
Me thinks you are just going on a hunch while pretending to have inside knowledge. I've seen this type of post, poster, hundreds of times on the crime forums I participate in. There's always one who "knows something" only later to be proven wrong.

No, QuestionMark, it's not the cold weather. Your concentration's fine.
The Glasgow case essentially moved off the Arkansas Times Blog (and from Arkansas Business) into the national media with today's (March 6) NY Post article. As you know, the case has barely been reported in the D-G.
John Covert is hardly the only national media investigative reporter on this case. The difference now is between ONE laptop computer trying to solve an unsolved mathematical conundrum and 250,000 networked computers simultaneously trying for the same goal.
If you think law enforcement agencies are competitive, they have NOTHING on the investigative competition of mainstream media to break stories like this one.
That's the difference between March 5th and March 6th.
Yes, the family (and the public) will ultimately get some answers.
As for your other question(s), I can only say that my earliest statements about this case (the first one appeared February 13) were true to the best I could do at the time.
Things change with time and further developments, as witnessed by my original estimate that the case would be "solved" in a month or less from February 14 (when I first stated that) . . . to amending that statement (on February 28) that it would begin to "unravel" "and not in a good way" on March 6.
Again, just the best one can do at the time.
On or around Friday, March 14, and I sincerely hope I'm wrong: news nobody wants to hear.
If "all hell's going to break loose," Beagles, it appears to be on or around that date, as far as the unraveling goes. And it continues from there. Again, not in a good way.
Or my name's not Jessica Fletcher.

So, Norma - do I need to rephrase my question?

Beagle1 - the blogger name font size is so small that I thought your name was Beagles too. Evidently you're not old enough to need bifocals..I'm not either, regardless of what the eye doc says. If I choose to go around missing everything that's within a foot of me because I'm not old enough for bifocals, shouldn't that be my business?? :-)
Norma--I was afraid you'd say that - I'll still pray for a fairy tale ending, however.
Where's Mrs. Columbo - hope she's not gone missing too.
Nite all - QuestionMark loves snow and is going to go peer out the window - We already have nearly 2". .am hoping for a Winter Wonderland come morning.

No one responded to my question the other night that all of the letters have been taken off of the CDI sign in front of the Headquarters. Could this company possibly be renamed VDI?

Goof: me 2. Did the Volvo SUV fly and land in Petit Jean Mather lodge parking lot...front row.
ARK native here. U other states reading this blog (like NJ, NY, CT, DE): Volvos may be very common where you live. may be very common in hillcrest/heights in Little Rock (right?).
Give me a break...common in Conway County? NO ONE saw it DRIVING AROUND? No cameras at base of Petit Jean (on FARM). the folks who live up THERE. i kinda thought they were a lil security conscious..... ?????
YEP. it musta flown up there.... wow black helicopters?
Another thing: whoever parked that vehicle. Must be a real common lookin type guy or gal....doesnt stand out....nationality.....
Where does Allsop Park play into this? I got the hint with the service....
Where are LITTLE ROCK POLICE?
.....are the signs still off the front of the building on Cantrell?
fellow posters: dont assail each other FOCUS on John Glasgow.
Beagle1: am old too...sorry i couldnt read ya name!

?? - I'm here. I noticed that the picture of JG in the NY Post has the words "obstruction" next to it. So, I wonder if they know more right now than they are ready to publish. hmmmmmmm. I would like confirmation about the CDI sign at their office. Not feasible or possible for me to personally check it out.
