Crime alert

This is going to shock you. The federal government has discovered that masonry workers on a building project at LR National Airport have been found to be working in the U.S. without proper papers. This link doesn't tell you, but I can, that this building project is for a new private aircraft operation put in motion by Stephens' interests at LR National. So before you get mad at Dick Holbert for firing a waitress who waved a Hillary Clinton sign, ....

Wouldn't be interesting to see if Stephens donates money to the Secure Arkansas campaign? I've looked, but I can't find their PAC's Financial Disclosure Report. Can anyone help?

It's too late maxs.
There's nothing shocking about those illegals being arrested. It is past time the law did it's job.
We've been shock so much lately because they are being allowed to come here with impunity.

Starting to worry about you, Max... two stories in a row with a dirty word. Oh, I'm not sure about this, but I believe it's spelled "numbnuts."

ARK. BLOG: I stand corrected. Put it down to irrational exuberance.

Arrest the employers too!

That damn Robbyn Tumey! Oh wait.....that damn Rev. Wright! No......well...damn someone, I'm sure!

This illegal Mexican thing is looking a whole lot like Prohibition. It's not working. Anyone wanting an illegal Mexican can get them one. You can make em in your bathtub I hear! It's not working and the only thing bad happening is how much money the fat cat Republican business owners are making paying people under the table, while pretending they want a stupid wall built. How well is our 20 million dollar wall working boys?

The Mexicans, legal or illegal are here and they'll keep coming as long as there are jobs to be had. It's not Mexicans hiring other Mexicans, it's fat cat white people always looking to pay less and less to polish their castles, to have their chickens processed.Paying less to charge us more. The most innocent of the bunch are the hard working Mexicans who work their asses off and don't complain...even when locked up all night inside a Walmart store earning less than minimum wage.

If nothing else happens....I hope in the next few years WE start learning how to figure just WHO is the bad guy in a situation. Rev. Wright says the same thing Ron Paul has been telling us for years and HE'S the bad guy. Obama knows Rev. Wright, was married long ago by Rev. Wright.....and HE'S the bad guy.

Mitt hires them to do his yard. Stephens hires them to build buildings. They clean most Wal-marts, roof most houses, cut most lawns, chop up most chicken parts, keep the local Chevy dealer in business, give their families their first nice place to live, run to church every time the doors open, and take excellent care of this kids. Yeah......there's a bad bunch for sure!

That is the kind of shiz that happens when you don't walk up to them on the street to check'em for their papers or identification.

Yes indeed, the messicuns-illegalies are old hat and part of the U.S. economy that refuses to go away no matter how unwelcome they are made to feel.

But the story here is that Stephens Private jet port thing. How much will they pay the city for lease on the property and other fees?

Did anyone check to see if federal wage guidelines are being upheld?

Wow DBI.....

I usually enjoy your opinion but you got this one all wrong.

The illegals don't have the minimum wage jobs. The legal, unskilled immigrants do.

What happens is big companies pay big money to immigration lawyers to secure work visas for immigrant workers, usually Mexicans. The limited number of these visas make them very difficult to obtain. These visas are very specific as to where and for whom the immigrant will be working. If my company wanted 30 visas..usually the minimum...it would cost me many many thousands of dollars to obtain them. What's sad is that this type of arrangement comes very very very close to being indentured servitude. The sponsors have to "vouch" for the immigrants upon arrival and the amount they are paid is negotiated as well, usually minimum wage. Often housing comes as part of the deal. The employers say that minimum wage is fair because they incurred many legal costs in securing the visas. Often the immigrants have to "purchase" their visa from their employer after arrival (Basically just pay back) so they end up getting screwed in both countries. Many times this is a shady side deal with a superior.

Well,.... we know that minimum wage will not feed a family. That's a no brainer for us. But what are Jose and Pedro and Miguel gonna do to feed the family? After all, one hour of work here is one days work down south. So they jump through like a million hoops in the most corrupt, inept Mexican government to be one the "lucky" 60,000 who will be granted the opportunity to come and work for freaking minimum wage.

The illegals, on the other hand..pay a coyote $1300 to lead them through the desert.
"Travel expenses" they are called. Many of my friends have traveled by foot more than one week, with little food and water just to put provide for their families. After arriving, $500 on the street will get them SSN that will get them a job. Unfortunately, the taxes and social security that are wthheld each week are gone forever. Some people have 10 years of SS paid and will never collect a dime of it. Never file a tax return. Look over your shoulder everday. Pray that you NEVER EVER get pulled over for anything.

Basically both scenarios suck for the immigrants.

Now here we are.....us fat Americans. Sitting in front of our flat screen monitors, with our high speed internet, in our new Mc Mansions on Lake Maumelle, with the gas guzzling SUVs in the 4 car garage. Complaining that the freaking lawn guys are all brown skinned so surely they must be illegal. That damned dishwasher at Waffle House must be wet. That mexican guy that mows the putting green at my club...well....you never know....might as well get rid of them all.

And the employers who hire them?? Let's jail them too.......but only after the construction gets finished on my tornado damged roof.

The problem is not the illegals coming here from Mexico, the problem is Mexico itself. More specifically the Mexican government. And there are plenty of American corporations in Mexico who pay wages far below our own minimum wage.

But, the Latinos/Hispanics in this country are a huge political force now. What are their thoughts on a solution to this problem?

Do you realize the political power it took to get a wet floor sign that you see in a Wal-Mart or even the hospitals to be printed in English AND Spanish? Or the political power it took to get the admissions signs at the local hospital printed in English AND Spanish? Our country never accomodated blacks in this fashion.

The Hispanic community and it's political leaders need to do something though. It is a fine line between tolerance and racism in this country and I know a lot of people who are walking the line.

We either need to enforce our immigration laws, or change them to allow more immigration.

I said this in another post but I'm going to repeat it.

Why are people opposed to immigration from other countries but not opposed to immigration from other US states? Having more people move to your town or state is good for your economy. Our current system acts as if immigration is bad and therefore must be limited.

There was a time when anyone in the world could come to the United States. What has happened to this country?

Let me clarify my previous comment. I'm not saying that anyone without exception should be allowed to move to the US. There must be a system that screens people to prevent criminals from immigrating here, and other requirements could be made.
