2% Sounds like ever increasing price of lousy watered down milk to folks like me.. Must be good for the DLC and GOP wealthy in crowd. Not much left to skim in old Bernakes tool box.

Who thinks that lowering the fed rate has any thing to do with high oil price?
Bush is crazy to think lowering the fed rate will make anyone forget what he and his oil buddies are doing to us when we have to have gasoline.
People he is a criminal and he is in contempt of the people!

Bush has no control over Bernake chasv. But, you are on target. Lowering the interest rate has nothing to do with reducing the price of oil. If anything, lowering the interest rate will worsen the U.S. Dollar crisis which is why we have high-priced oil in the U.S. while world supplies of oil are at all-time highs.
Lowering interest rates is like the hooker taking off her amply full bra real slowly and rubbing her hand along the edge of those shear lacy panties. It's a means to entice financial institutions into making more consumer credit available after the Bush-Inspired mortgage meltdown. But the Johns in the loaning business just won't get it up for a long while. They got risk-shock the last time they picked up the tab on
easy credit. Risk-shock and the resultant losses are like VD to financial Johns.

Gee....L.Wood's money talk gave me an erection....I think it was amply full and shear lacy that got me!
Second question, when the prime rate goes into negative numbers, does that mean my bank will pay me to borrow money? That would be sooooo cool.
And surely Nanc the news you heard had to be about Fort Smith, Northwest Territories....I'm finding no bargains around here....but boy, there's a butt-load of new folks shopping at Dollar General these days. If Bush is allowed to continue weaving his magic, gas will be 5 bucks a gallon and I'd be reporting from Fort Hooverville, Louisiana Purchase........sorta has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

It was assumed the feds would cut another quarter point The dollar already declined in anticipation of the cut, so the dollar will not weaken more as a result of the cut. It is also assumed that there will be no more interest rate cuts. If there are more cuts then the dollar will decline more. Hopefully the feds will soon start increasing interest rates which will help stabilize the dollar.
Speculators pushed up the price of oil 20% in less than two months. If the dollar strengthens and they start selling off, it won't take long to see a 20% decrease.

In the meantime I paid $75 to fill up, $28 for two pounds of my luxurious Starbucks and then I stopped at the grocery store...where I bought more luxuries, stuff like bread, cheese and over-the-top fresh produce (can't wait for the local farmers' market). So I feel no correlation between the DC dog/pony show and my day-to-day living.
It's depressing as hell to go to the store on senior citizen discount day and see so many of the elderly couples' carts as they try to feed themselves through their so-called golden years. Comparatively, I feel like a glutton with my ample supply of organic fruits/vegetables/meat...and Starbucks. Time to seriously consider a real garden.
Oh yeah...after putting our new roof on, our roofer told us that 'asphault' shingles were fixing to go through the roof, but insurance payments weren't moving accordingly. Ahh, our golden years are going to be so sweet. Good thing we've got Eureka, our son and the other youngens to carry us old geezers through...get to working, Eureka!!!
