'They're coming to your town'
Courtesy of Think Progress, a report on the American Family Association's new DVD about homosexual activists' takeover of Eureka Springs, part of a national agenda in case you didn't know. Says a trailer for the movie, “Watch, and learn how to fight a well-organized gay agenda to take over the cities of America, one city at a time.”

Comments
Funny, the only "agenda" I'm aware of that my gay friends have is working, paying the bills, having fun, finding someone to love. The same agenda that I've pursued for 30+ years. The same agenda that many people all over the US--nay, many conservatives, even--have.
I so tire of this whole "agenda" thing. When people are oppressed, many will go to extremes to be heard, to seek validation for their view. Many won't. You're not "loving your neighbor like yourself" (you know, one of "the big ones" from Jesus's perspective) if you're learning how to fight against your neighbor.

Damn! The wingnuts were more fun and easier to tolerate when it was just a commie behind every bush.
Now it's an "agenda" you better watch out for. Does the Lord have an agenda? Is it spelled out in those mad-man rants called Revelations written by a jail bird on the island of Pathos? Do we have enough laws to keep Agenda and their gangs off the streets at night. Are Agendas allowed to be preachers?
Inquiring minds you know.

I wish they'd take over Little Rock
because this town needs something.
Maybe a gay touch is what's lacking?

Want to know how this AFA dvd came to be?
Eureka Springs has a Domestic Partnership Registry (DPR). The DPR is the only one in the state. So far, it has attracted 170 couples from 34 cities in Arkansas and 11 different states, including Texas, Florida and Maryland.
For these folks, the DPR has deep personal meaning, even though it conveys no tangible benefits or protections. Some employers, however, will recognize it for extending health insurance to the partner of an employee.
The DPR became law on June 22, 2007, after the Eureka Springs City Council unanimously approved it on three separate votes over the course of three months.
Not every one in the Swish Alps of the Ozarks was thrilled with the DPR so the AFA was called in by Rev Flip Flop Wilson.
To find out more, and to see how the locals reacted, read the local BB Geekfest thread http://geekfest.com/showthread.....+town& page=6
2 weeks ago Eureka hosted their Spring Diversity Weekend. Watch the video of what took place in the City Basin Spring Park http://esartv.com/pda08/motherbear/

There is no damn reason to tolerate queers. Not only do they spread diseases but their damn minds are F$** up. They are not born thatway they just have to be queer(different) that is all.
MAX, everything was kinda running smooth and it was dull but you have liven this blog up to hell.
I like to take a poll to see who is and who is not queer on here......

Bold & Blue beat me to it, Fort Baptist would have to be a whole lot less mean if the gays took it over. We've always had a large gay population and our dirty little secret is that no one seems to care. Good! The chasv type haters are heading to the cemetery as hard as the hearses can carry them. Good!
I'll never understand hatred of homosexuals. They don't invade my house or touch my private parts while I'm sleeping. If I have gay neighbors, they must do their man FK'ing inside, cause I don't know a damn thing about it. If the whole world was queer, I'd still be crawling in bed with my wife at night cause that's the way I roll. I know enough to know people don't pick their sexual preference, they're born with it. You don't decide to be gay for the weekend just because there's nothing good on TV. And if it did work that way......who cares?
I think adults should get jiggy with anything that's legal and strikes their fancy. I don't worry about chasv's imaginary friends. I'd have a harder time sleeping at night if I hated as much as he does than I would if suddenly I decided to bob my head on the mailman's genitals tomorrow. No kind of sex lasts as long as hatred. AIDS doesn't kill as many people as hate.
And just as things didn't turn modern the minute the calender flipped over to 1900, our century is new, but I can already see that soon it won't matter if you're gay or straight. It won't matter if your skin color is other than lily white. We will have a woman as Commander and Chief sooner, not later. And this silly talk about gay people will vanish from the public conversation.
The old dinosaurs like chasv are dying off. Pull the dirt up over you and SFU, it's not the 20th century any more. A new day is coming, the hard way as all new days come, but it's coming and it will be better. Good on Eureka Springs for leading the way for brotherly love in Arkansas.

Life in this town....
Three Banks, one grocery store, two Dollar Stores, about a dozen churches (okay no Wal Mart ;) )
Now the bad news.....
Two newspapers (one gutless Old Guard rag, a far-right Neo-Calvinist rag)--none of which are online.
Very low internet penetration, and broadband access limited to city limits.
A community (or cult) of Neo-Calvinist followers that basicly built their own town outside the city.
Said community has several businesses outside of town and competes with other businesses or in some cases has the only businesses.
I'd welcome a "takeover" yesterday.

Of the gay people I know, each one takes pride in the community they live in. They are all very active in various organizations and social groups and generally know a lot about the place: culturally, historically and geographically. Nearly all care a lot about the environment, both built and natural. They care about their neighborhoods. They are active and interested in civic affairs. They give back in ways long time residents couldn't dream of, or more often are simply to lazy to.
When I visited the Garden District in New Orleans last month, my wife and I met several gay couples who were remodeling stately old homes, restoring antique wrought iron fences, and mending broken brick walls (either personally or through hired contractors). They are also merchants in the CBD and French Quarter. The gays have invested in New Orleans, and the city should be thankful in the effort this group is making to restore the Crescent to its former grandeur.
So I agree with The Bold and The Blue -- maybe LR could use a 'gay touch.' Maybe a lot of cities in Arkansas could because, apparently, the straights have gotten to damn lazy to care.

Homos are like bad apple in a barrel of apples.. they cause all to rot. Well, that is their agenda for the world. Many, maybe not all, are what are called exhibitionest. They want to world to be their stage so they can perform their sex acts right in front of the world. The more excitement the better they like it. That is called lust.
If everyone thought like dbi, which is exactly the way they like people to think, the homos could do and go everywhere to do their thing. If the blind lead the blind they'll both fall in the ditch.
I remember history of pompii and sodom and gomorrah that the only way to stop their influence was to completely you know what.
You talk about hate,, hamos have the most hate of all people especially if they are forced to go back to the closet and hide. Only in a free society can they do the s@%@ they do. ONLY!
dbi, they don't come in your home but they do other come to other homes..

chasv, if your parents were still alive I'd give them such a smack!!! Everything you say is wrong. Sure there are some bad gay people like there are some bad straight people. A bigot can always find one bad apple to hold up as an example. What about all the ministers and priests who've been caught FK'ing children? It's not all in the Catholic Church ya know. Should we say to watch out for every "man of God" cause he's gonna stick it in your kid? Well...hell no!
I'm sorry you hate and fear gay people. You're missing out on some interesting folks who have no desire to nail your old wrinkled ass, in private or at the Mall. Check the date on the book where you're getting your information about gay people. I bet it's dated 1860 or something. Come to your senses and I personally promise that no gay person is going to knock down your door to kiss you on the lips. Jesus....there are plenty of real things to be scared of. Being taken over by gay hordes is not one of them. I beg you.....join us here in the 21st century!

dbi you'd have to smack me my two brothers and three sisters and many more before you come close to smacking my parents.
The book I read doesn't get old because it is the "Book Of Life!" It gives life to those that believe it and death to those who deny it is the word of God.
Another thing, dbi, I do not hate homos and I don't fear them.
dbi wrote, What about all the ministers and priests who've been caught FK'ing children? It's not all in the Catholic Church ya know. Should we say to watch out for every "man of God" cause he's gonna stick it in your kid? Well...hell no!
That is a sad truth.

OUR "dirty little secret" here on the world's finest blog IS of course that chasv is gay and keeps trying to pray his way out of it, and prove his "manly" creds by publicly/verbally "whuppin' up" on all things homo.
SORRY chasv, it ain't workin'...we're ON to you, sweetie!
