Almost heaven

Thank goodness for West Virginia. But for them, Arkansas's population would have the lowest percentage of college graduates in the country.

Comments

Why, shit, we don't need no education. . .look what education has done for California. . .teacher, leave them kids alone

Economics is undoubtedly a huge factor in Arkansas's abysmally low rate of college graduates (as though a 27% national graduate rate is something to crow about). Just yesterday, Arkansas Tech announced a 5% hike in tuition beginning this summer. Tuition at the U.of A. will be 6% higher this fall; and there'll be similar increases at most of the state's schools. These tuition (and fee) increases are all the more reason to support Bill Halter's proposal for a state lottery to fund college scholarships. More than 71,000 Arkies have signed petitions to get the lottery proposal on the November 4 ballot. Have you Arkansas Times blogsters out there done your part by signing up? And, will you vote YES come the election?

I don't have no college ed but, I once got laid on the Tulane campus.

Jesus Christ, jazzy! I didn't go to Tulane, but I once got laid on the Tulane campus, too. We're talkin' 1966 or thereabouts. Do ya think? --- No way!

Ok AT, tell us about how we don't need Halter's education Lottery money.

When a guv is setting on one the largest surpluses in our history and higher ed
funding is being cut, yes, I will sign an education lottery any day, vote for it as
many times as I can. No more sawmill towns!

Hummmmmmm, 1966....were you a prof in the chemical engineering dept.???????????
