Bag man
A few days ago, we mentioned the sighting of a political celebrity at work on the TSA security crew at Little Rock National Airport.
Readers had already contributed the confirmation, but we nailed down the details in this week's Insider, now on the web. That is former Huckabee press aide (and still Huck bro-in-law) and former high-ranking state Emergency Services official Jim Harris at work on the TSA security detail. He declined to speak with David Koon about his new job. He recently had worked on the Huckabee presidential campaign.

How does one go about getting one of those high paying fed jobs with 13 paid holidays? Be knowledgeable about security, like save my ass.

I think TSA kin folk should be called BIG brother in law. One has to wonder how many Democrats he harasses in the airport, like lil' bro?

Sorry, Max, but covering this is pretty low - even for you.

Yes, red, revealing something truthful is low for most fantasy pretending neocons. But, let me admit it's not nearly as exciting as publicizing Bill Clinton's sex life.

Hmmm. How sexy would McBush be? Would he be our first Viagra President? And that foxy wife of his with hordes of hunky aides there to assist her every need? Bodyguard takes on new meaning.

Hey LWood, did Jim Harris commit perjury to get this job? Did he lose his law license and end up having to work here 'cause he couldn't afford the almost-$100,000 fine?
If not, put a sock in it. Clinton broke a law. Harris is just trying to make a living.

Hey, give the guy a break!
David Huckabee needs someone who will look the other way when he "forgets" that's he packing heat while going through airport security!

It'll be good training for when he's sweeping up around a local mall. Maybe Mrs. Rockefeller will need some guarding down the road. Tsk tsk, his family connection to easy street done went bust. But there's always Hanke Brothers!

Arkansas Red says, "Sorry, Max, but covering this is pretty low - even for you."
I reply, "TSA has cleaned up its act considerably, and working for them is not anything for the man to be ashamed of. When I had to fly out last month without my picture ID, they put me through without too much hassle. I was impressed."

"Bag man." Leave it to Max and his staff to make an insulting pun. From the picture, it looks to me as if Mr. Harris is handling his job (an important one) with dignity--especially in light of the fact that apparently an a**hole from the Times was sticking a camera in his face while he was trying to screen passengers.
ARK. BLOG: Photo was not taken at the airport.

From The Pines, since when did TSA shampoo-and-shoe-checkers start wearing sweater vests?! LOL
... And exactly where did Max et al say they took that photo of Harris while he was on the job? You did a great job in spinning the Huckabee "joke" as actually being about a liberal afraid of guns, but you fanned on this one, my man.

Just saw the explanation on the picture. My bad. As Emily Litella would say, "Never mind."
But I still think it was a cheap shot to use that caption and publicize this as some sort of "falling from grace." Mr. Harris looks to be getting along in years--and the sad fact of life is that making a career change in middle age is hard. I applaud him for doing what he can to put food on the table. Looks like he's making his own way.

Jazzy's comment made me snort.
As far as Mr. Harris goes... bless his heart, he's working. He's doing what he can to feed his folks, and that's good enough by me. Some folks in this world would rather take a hand-out or go snorkling through political waters to snoop out a paid position somewhere. Mr. Harris is obviously not too much of a snob to do a little physical work for a paycheck.
