Let's eat

New food porn on Eat Arkansas. I forgot to mention -- ice cold Moretti beer in frozen mugs, on draft, and rosso di montalcino by the glass at absurdly fair markups. They make the helter-skelter service situation more than bearable.

Oh, forgot to say this is from Za Za, the new salad and wood oven pizza restaurant in the Heights.

Surely you jest...that looks like compost fodder.

Now Oda Mae you must just get tuned in to the nouveau cuisine . After that you can compost it.
At least give the guys credit for doing something with left-over pizza crusts and old lemons.

Looks delish and I can't wait to see a rosso di Montalcino on a menu. And helter skelter should probably be expected. As much as I love the products at Boulevard, that's exactly how I'd describe the service there too....

Really. If Chez Panisse had been a pizzaria, this would be Chez East. Yuppie ripoff. Sausage pizza with six pieces of sausage, each smaller than the pieces in the lasagne I prepared this week. And with slices of fontina scattered around after the pizza had been removed from the oven. And then salad greenery scattered about too. San Francisco, yes. Napoli, no. Superb gellato, but $3 for a half-a-dixie-cup-full? The new Dove ice cream cartons are a much better buy. And all this at a self-service joint. Deliver me.
