McCain:Bush dittohead

Well. Here you go. Change vs. more of the same.
On a conference call with conservative bloggers this afternoon, John McCain launched what may be his most direct attack yet on Barack Obama's national security credentials, saying flat out that Obama is incapable of protecting America and lacks the necessary traits to keep it secure from foreign threats.
In a reference to Obama's declared willingness to meet with the leader of Iran, McCain said:
"I think [it] is an unacceptable position, and shows that Senator Obama does not have the knowledge, the experience, the background to make the kind of judgments that are necessary to preserve this nation's security."
Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

Give it a few weeks and he'll come around just like he did on getting the troops out of Iraq. The straight talk express is so dead you don't even have to kick it to see if it moves. McCain's age keeps him about 2 months behind the curve on every issue - but he'll change his story when his aides tell him he has to do so.

"If Senator Obama wants to sit down (with) the leader of (Iran) what is it that he wants to talk about?" --- McCain
That's easy. Unlike the current president, Obama wants to talk about a responsible exit plan for Iraq. Obama knows, as does Ahmadinejad of Iran, that in the long run, an unstable Iraq cannot be good for Iran. Even so, talks with Ahmadinejad will require a lot of patience and intense diplomacy. It will also require a great deal of flexibility to deal with unforeseen and unpredictable political and military developments sure to arise during the next 24 months. McCain is too smart not to know this. But, hey, there's an election five months from now, so if there's any chance the fear factor can still work, why not give 'er a try?

The last thing Obama needs is advice from a Bush Republican. The Bush Silent Treatment has worked so well for us the last 8 years. If we keep silent and keep bombing long enough everyone reading these words will be dead. McCain is wrong, Republicans are wrong, this country is heading in the wrong direction. Will it take blood running in our streets to convince the loyal 28%?
I'd take foreign policy advice from the janitor at my kid's school before I'd ask a FK'ing Republican. Turning America into an armed camp and the enemy of the world is not my idea of keeping us safe. Being the planet's giant son of a bitch isn't my idea of living. We kidnap, we torture, we kill, we wage war, we threaten other countries, we stick our nose where it doesn't belong, we sell weapons to terrorists. What a crappy country Cheney-Bush has made out of us. If we get the chance...we can fix this in November and have the whole bunch in prison by Christmas, 2009.

Bush is going to do this all summer long. He's going to go out there and upstage McCain, just like he did today as he walked all over McCain's big speech, and say outrageous things. Then McCain will have no choice but to defend Bush and look like a Bush lapdog. Bush will also take it upon himself to speak for McCain and let everyone know that McCain supports Bush on EVERYTHING. That will be fun too. Bush is going to see this election as about him and his administration so he will be be doing things like this a lot. I would feel sorry for McCain if I didn't feel like he deserves it.

I think Happy nailed it. How many times have we heard about Bush's egomania? He can't allow
McThird to drift too far from the Kool-Aid Party.

I'm embarrassed to be an Arkansan.
We are West Virginia only with more humidity.
Pathetic.
Read this:
Election 2008: Arkansas Presidential Election
Arkansas: McCain 57% Obama 33%
Thursday, May 15, 2008
In Arkansas, John McCain leads Barack Obama by twenty-four percentage points. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows McCain attracting 57% of the vote while Obama earns 33%.
McCain build this margin by winning 92% of the Republican vote, 38% support from Democrats, and leading Obama by twenty-four percentage points among unaffiliated voters.
McCain is viewed favorably by 57% of Arkansas voters, Obama by 38%.
In March, McCain had a twenty-nine percentage point lead over Obama.
Rasmussen Markets shows that Republicans are currently given a 73.0 % chance of winning the Six Electoral College Votes from Arkansas this fall. George W. Bush won the state by six percentage points in Election 2000 and by ten points in 2004. At the time this poll was released, Arkansas was rated as "Likely Republican" in the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator.
Arkansas is one of the few states where Hillary Clinton could absolutely make the case that she is more electable. Clinton leads McCain by fourteen percentage points (53% to 39%). However, this is not enough to change the outcome of the Democratic Presidential Nomination process. As Rasmussen Reports noted last week, the Democratic race is effectively over and Obama will be the party's nominee.

If the choices are:
a) Allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons, or
b) Bomb Iran,
I'll go with "Bomb Iran".

Rev. Mojo Ryson,
If you're ashamed to be an Arkansan (I am), do what I did: Call yourself an Arkansawyer instead. I've slept much better since making that decision.
Mr. Happy,
So, what you're saying is, Bush is to McCain as Bill is to Hillary?

"If the choices are:

b) Bomb Iran,
I'll go with "Bomb Iran"."
Good thing that the NIE and all 16 intelligence agencies said Iran halted its nuclear program a long time ago.
Hopefully no ignorant ****tards mess it up this time like they did with Iraq.

Hugh's experience and background in the criminal courts make him the most qualified candidate. It is a stretch to think that someone who has been dealing with tall grass and barking dogs would make a better criminal court judge than someone who has played an active role in the criminal courts for the past 15+ years. Experience is definitely the deciding factor in this race.

Cato, even Bush seems to want to take a shower after one of McCain's happy hugs. I didn't think anyone could be more sickening than Bush, but I think McCain's gone him another mile or two.

This snippet from Newsweek is for the let's "bomb Iran" poster upthread:
Some point to the dangers posed by countries like Iran. These rogue states present real problems, but look at them in context. The American economy is 68 times the size of Iran's. Its military budget is 110 times that of the mullahs. Were Iran to attain a nuclear capacity, it would complicate the geopolitics of the Middle East. But none of the problems we face compare with the dangers posed by a rising Germany in the first half of the 20th century or an expansionist Soviet Union in the second half. Those were great global powers bent on world domination. If this is 1938, as some neoconservatives tell us, then Iran is Romania, not Germany.
