Warrant issued on animal abuse?

That's what Andrew Bagley's blog is reporting exclusively from Helena-West Helena. He says a judge has signed off an animal cruelty charge against the mayor, James Valley, for cutting stray dogs loose in the national forest rather than caring for them properly at a city animal shelter. Given that the mayor has admitted this action, I think he may be in deep dog doo.

Other than being preventative what the hell use is this warrant? Folks in Helena community need to fund an animal shelter, not defend the mayor. Again, what the hell was his choice, turn the critters loose or give them the needle? The mayor has had national embarrassment. Now get on with what needs to be done rather than spending thousands of dollars with lawyers.

Not trying to be a naysayer here eLwood but the Mayor did have other options than giving them the needle or turning them loose.

Two... count'em two.... different Humane Society chapters in the area offered to come get the dogs and find homes for them but for whatever reason the Mayor refused the offers and chose to turn them loose to starve. He deserves to be turned loose in the National Forest as well.....jail time and/or a fine is too good for him.

He deserves all the bad publicity he gets and Max is right to keep giggin him with it.
