I have a problem with people who break the law and want to get a pass. I have a problem with people who defend the breaking of laws because the people breaking the laws are foreign. I have a problem with using euphemisms to hide the truth. I try and teach my children that it is wrong to break the law. It is very difficult to do this when 'adults' advocate that they selectively obey laws. It is confusing to children and, frankly, it is disconcerting to adults who respect the law.

I'll move anywhere I need to in order to provide my family a living, governments be damned. That was the spirit of the people who settled this country.
It's legal to get an abortion, but I'm not teaching my kid it is right. It's illegal for gay people to marry but she knows a few who've managed it in other countries.
There can be a significant difference between right and legal, and between wrong and illegal. I let scripture be my guide. God before country.

I have a problem with rich American citizens (and their corporations) breaking the law, exploiting poor labor (both visiting labor and fellow citizens) and getting away with it time and time again.
We could easily squeeze into existing jails the largest rich lawbreakers... fine the heck out of them at a profit..and actually put a dent in illegal hiring practices at the same time.
The rest is just fodder for bigots and divisive politics, while the rich continue to laugh all the way to the bank and the fund raisers for Ross Pryor Boozeman etc.

The Nuremburg Court held that the Nazis could not use the state as an excuse for commiting acts against humanity. Requiring that people enter our country legally hardly equates to the murder of people due to their religion. If you can't discern the obvious difference then there is nothing that I can say that will make it clear to you. I guess your ideology has evaporated your brain.

I have a problem with Henry Kissenger having been a Cabinet member for POTUS when Mr. Kissenger was never a naturalized citizen. Illegal immigrant he were.
I have a problem with the POTUS who refuses to enforce our immigration laws. It's a top down morality that has always occurred in this society.

Let me break it down for you: Just because "the state" says it, doesn't make it so. I would bet my left nut that you call yourself a "Christian." Please explain to me how you reconcile your "christianity" with your hatred and xenophobia? Here are a few passages fro the Bible for you to consider:
Deuteronomy 10: 19 You shall love the stranger, for you were once strangers in the land of Egypt.
Leviticus 19:34 The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Luke 10:27 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.
Matt. 5:43-44 You have heard that it was said, 'you shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy'. But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you.
Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbour, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Romans 12:13 Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.
Acts 10:34 Then Peter began to speak to them: "I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "See the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them as their God; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them."
3 John 1:5 Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the friends, even though they are strangers to you; they have testified to your love before the church. You do well to send them on in a manner worthy of God; for they began their journey for the sake of Christ, accepting no support from non-believers. Therefore we ought to support such people, so that they may become co-workers with the truth.
Hebrews 13: 1 Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Collossians 3:11 In that renewal there is no longer Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.
Matthew 25: 35 I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Matt. 25:40 Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of my brethren you did it to me.
Now, "If you can't discern the obvious difference then there is nothing that I can say that will make it clear to you. I guess your ideology has evaporated your brain." You fucking hypocrite.

I suggest that you read Romans 13. Specifically, verse 1 that says, "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities." There are other verses but the scriptures require that we obey authority over us. The only exception would be where the governing authority requires that we do something that violates God's commandments or prohibits us from doing what God requires.

I took your advice and read Romans Chapter 13. Perhaps YOU should go back and re-read the entire chapter, particularly verses 8-10 -
8Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
9For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
10Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

And how do you explain Romans 13:1? The scriptures do not contradict themselves. Those verses don't contradict that people should be held to obey the law. Would you extend that discretion to obey the law to say murder, or stealing or rape? Is anarchy ok with you?

The scriptures do not contradict themselves - strangelove
Really???
Who is the father of Joseph?
MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.
The number of beasts in the ark
GEN 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
GEN 7:8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, GEN 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
Is it folly to be wise or not?
PRO 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
ECC 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
1CO 1:19: "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
The sins of the father
ISA 14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
DEU 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Righteous live?
PSA 92:12: "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree."
ISA 57:1: "The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart."
Do you answer a fool?
PRO 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
PRO 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
What was the color of the robe placed on Jesus during his trial?
MAT 27:28 scarlet
JOH 19:2 purple

You are not loving God when you disobey his commandments. John 14 identifies those who truly love the Lord as those who obey his commandments. You show no love for your neighbor when you show contempt for God's word.

Love, as the scriptures speak, does not conflict with the requirement of Christians to obey the law. I have read your verses several times and I am trying to understand how they conflict with Romans 13:1. The laws are necessary to establish order and to protect people. If you leave it up to individuals to choose which laws they obey and which they will not you have a prescription for anarchy. You love your neighbor when you obey the laws of society. The only exception would be when those laws require that you disobey God.

Some of you miss one thing and that is Jesus never meant for one to take from another. That is what the illegals are doing they are taking and breaking the law at the same time.
Obey the laws of the land. The USA is not a republic and more for all the ANARCHY going on. That right, ANARCHY. You people have voted for amendments to the constitution that makes it legal for anyone to steal and rob us. How stupid you that voted that way are!
Jesus meant for every man to earn or provide for himself. One man came to Jesus and said to Him make my brother divid the inheritance with me.. What did Jesus say to him? Go read it. Well, what we have builded here is our inheritance but politicians and illegals are robbing us of our inheritance..
God is not the author of confusion.
On the day of pentacost there were people from every country and every tongue and they all left and went back to their own land. These illegals should go back to their land to.
Slydog why did you ask who was the father of Joseph?
Mary was a VIRGIN when she gave birth to the LORD.

I have no idea why that posted twice. Must have been the last four St. Pauli Girls! I grew up in Phoenix, Az. It was at one time a very spectacular city to live in, Now it is a haven for hispanics who thrive on the fact they can strike fear into everyone there with their violence. The bad thing is, they get away with it! I have been shot at by an illegal alien. The joker missed, (damn), but I saw him through a land surveyor's transit. i IDed the squat frog breeder to the Phoenix cops. Him, and his little butt buddy shooting partner. They were deported in about two weeks. If I had been in Mexico and shot at one of their stinking citizens, I would not see much of the light of day for quite some time. Maybe not at all. I also had an illegal ask me for a ride at a rest stop northwest of Phoenix, on the way back from Alamo Lake. I told him no and left, towing my boat. I stopped about ten miles down the road for something I cannot remember, and lo and behold, there was Paco the Taco bender hiding in my boat. No, frickin means no, in one hell of a lot of languages. MEXICAN INCLUDED! I had to pull out my old twenty two rifle and yell like a madman at the SOB before he would even get out of my boat. Then he tried to climb back in as I started to pull away. I hit the brakes, jumped out and pulled the rifle out again. This time the little slug ran for the desert. No brains, no gains!

Chasv,
The scriptures are nothing but private interpretation. God is not in the church where we seek him, he is in each and every one of us. The preacher only gives his view of the scriptures, faith is the defining thing in each of us that sets us apart from the rest of the critters on earth. The interpretation of the scriptures is weilded by each as they see fit to use them to their own means. I only wish all would use them for the gaining of moral assimilation instead of the I kill in the name of God.

I have another query for all you brainstormers out there, Why is it when the US Gov. starts hammering down on the illegal aliens there is almost always an outbreak of Salmonela or Ecoli or such affecting the US. Maybe someone should investigate how many of the "Victims" of these outbreaks were of "Alien" origin. Probably none. They pack the food, they know what goes into it. Pedro didn't make it to the Porta Potty! I know if you used to piss off the guys at the local Jack in the Crack, they would give you a really juicy burger. Fact, not fiction, I saw it done! What do you think happens when we piss off the people who handle most of our produce. Do you think that Serrano Pepper got covered with Pig Droppings on accident? I also suppose you all think the Chinese are sending lead poisoned toys to our kids just for the fun of it. How about the poisoned animal feeds. Could that have been just a simple mistake? Who supplies China with oil? You may also think deep in that erroneous heart of yours that the Islam followers are not living with the intention of erradicating Christians from the face of the earth. Everything is a conspiracy. Any and all little details are thought through with the intent of hiding the truth. If we don't know, we don't care.

Here's why.
Once I've identified, over a period of days or weeks, those posters who have nothing to say and nothing to say it with, I just click the "Ignore" button by their names.
Their posts don't even show up for me (unless I undo "Ignore") and I don't waste time engaging them.
Operative word: "waste."
Apparently, this thread about "immigrants" immediately devolved into some sort of Biblical trivia contest.
I'm not ABOUT to undo "Ignore" to find out.

I'd equate this to George Carlin's take on drug dealers.
Don't execute the drug dealers, execute the white, Republican bankers who launder their money. Then you'll see drug trafficking disappear.
Same with Illegals. Deport these wealthy businessmen who benefit from paying low wages to these people just trying to make an above poverty life for themselves and their families.
That wealthy guy who hires them to landscape his vast lawn. The multi-million dollar farm comglomorate that hires them to harvest its crops. Deport their owner's sorry ass to Mexico.
Then we'll see a drop in illegal immigration.

It's the total solar eclipse, as you know, and the aliens whom former astronaut Ed Mitchell (and over 300 more NASA scientists and astronauts) referred to have forced me to sign a confidentiality agreement about this blog's "Ignore" button because I'm, you know, special.
But trust me. It's there. Like on lots of other blogs. A fabulous one-click technique for blocking dunce posters. Not sure Max has deliberately obscured it or not. You just have to look for it. Once you find it it's amazingly effective.
As soon as I'm released from my intergalactic agreement, I'll reveal it.

Meanwhile, eLwood, here's a clip somebody sent me from some astrologer in Tibet.
Damn if it's not accurate for ME.
And, as somebody once said about astrology, "Just because it applies to millions of people doesn't mean it's not valid."
_____________
"Your American actress, Bette Davis, said it best. 'Old age ain't for sissies.' Here we go.
"The August 1st Total Solar Eclipse spotlights specific areas in your life: your friends, your closest friends; your family; community and professional groups where you're active (or hope to be); and your own personal goals and dreams for your future not far down the road. The times they are a'changin'.
"You've never been more aware of Nature's birth / death / rebirth cycle than now. Old friends, parents, grandparents, loved ones pass from your life into new lives of their own. New friends and close ties enter. Old friends show sides of themselves you never suspected (good and not so). New children and grandchildren mitigate losses in your family circle. Divorces, marriages, re-marriages, upheavals in lives closest to you . . . God's wonderful symphony of existence.
"It's enough to make you bribe your primary health-care physician for Paxil. But DON'T or you'll miss Real Life.
"You've never been more aware of who your TRUE friends are (and are not) than these next few months.
"You've never been more aware of how good a friend YOU can be, or not, than these next few months. You're about to find out what friendships REALLY mean.
"Behind everything upcoming is your own inner seismic psychological / emotional shift. It arrives abruptly or in spurts. But you're no longer headed the same directions you've pursued in the past, over the next three months. Thus your increasing interest in new groups, friendships and activities. Challenging? Yes.
Your job situation may be topsy-turvy. Suddenly fired? Suddenly hired. Retired? Out-of-the blue offers hit your Inbox.
"Eclipses are always challenging, particularly when you're not getting any younger. But eclipses are ultimately exciting and rewarding!
"People pass from your life for one reason or another and it's FREEING!
"You retire or are fired or decide to (HAVE to?) move and it's FREEING!
"You plunge into a totally new venture / adventure in your life and it's FREEING!
"You're ready. Pent-up yearnings (even unconscious) for freedom and change from your past habits, hobbies, work, activities, close ties and friends (maybe your locale) are valid and ongoing and blossom over the next three months.
"Natural circumstances (even accidents, sudden health issues, emotional separations and losses, or relocations), seemingly forced on you by "Fate," function as wake-up calls. The Old is over, the New is now.
"Time to rearrange Life's furniture.
"Your only REAL choice? Look forward. Navigate the road ahead versus trying to steer with your eyes fixed on the rearview mirror, dwelling on what's behind you instead of what's ahead.
"New groups you join the next three or four months, and new friends you meet, prove supportive, creative, helpful . . . maybe even romantic, if you're open and inclined.
"You'll likely surprise yourself (and probably others) in the weeks ahead, with paths you choose and how you behave.
"WARNING: Avoid impulsivity and acting in haste (Makes Waste) or anger (Sign of Danger), though you may be TEMPTED BIG-TIME! Twixt now and November, count to ten in intense moments and MAJOR decisions. Seeking professional counsel is always good if circumstances seem a bit overwhelming, temporarily . . . .
"Life will supply you with enough drama without your having to create any.
"As best you can, steer clear of arguments, confrontations and lawsuits. Even if you're right, such situations can turn messy and cost you as much as they might gain. Pushing sensitive hot buttons will verbally, financially or even physically implode, to everybody's detriment.
"There's a backlog of past secrets, built-up resentments, betrayal, gossip, infidelity, even deceit . . . behind a stressed friendship, professional, marital or family tie in your life. [Listening, Lu Hardin?] They surface this cycle so you can repair or cleanse them.
"It's YOUR choice, but you love your friends and family. You won't have a better opportunity to heal damaged ties than now, by lovingly bringing things into the open and finally achieving closure.
"Forgiving doesn't mean forgetting. But 'THEY' aren't the only ones who've made mistakes. You're not perfect either. Understand and forgive yourself as you understand and forgive others, and say, 'I'm sorry,' if you need to, to yourself as well as 'them,' while you're in this process.
"Healing's what these upcoming three or four months are all about. Heal yourself and important personal / professional ties in your life. Say loving 'Goodbyes' to what's passing and welcome 'Hello's' to what's knocking at your door.
"August, September and October are about how you react and choose to redirect your life in light of demanding and unexpected, events - both happy and not -- that throw your life a curve.
"Attend to detailed, organized, PRACTICAL details no matter how emotionally exciting or devastating your situation. Handling essential details keeps you focused.
"Bottom line? Ya gotta have friends. Takes one to know one.
"BE a true one now.
"You'll be fine.

Once I was robbed by a black man...at gunpoint no less. A few years later, a white man stole several tools out of my truck while I watched. And lo and behold, yesterday a white woman pulled out in front of me nearly causing an accident.
Using your logic I should hate all whites, blacks and women....huh?
Maybe you should move to Benton County asap....its your only hope for happiness.
At least at the county line, the local law enforcement uses weekly "border checks", under the ruse of looking for drugs, to weed out all the brown skinned people.

I did a WHOIS search on "arkansasfreedom.c*m" and its some "Go Daddy" address. But the text and web design are very reminiscent of a website Joe McCutchen had out in recent years.
Its bad enough with the ditto heads that come in here, but the unreconstructed knuckledraggers such as "ChasV" are just *way* over the top honey. He's outed himself as a redneck, racist, anti-immigrant, and a closeted homosexual. There isn't a gay-related post that this "Landmarker" doesn't leave his "Damn-The-Queers" POV.
But all this Fox-News fueled "righteous indignation" is nothing more than a beard to divide the American people and allow the Rwing Nuts to work both sides of the street---appeal to the rednecks about them "ILLEGALS", while pushing through NAFTA previously, and now free trade with Columbia (a country that has contributed to the illegal drug trade for years).

It's easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. This is not an analogy -- it is the Word of the Lord
The main reason people oppose immigrants is because of greed.
When you use scripture to justify greed, you turn it upside down.
A TRULY Christian nation would give the shirts off our backs to the poor and downtrodden, regardless of how they got here. We'd love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
When judgment day comes, it will be far better to be the illegal alien than the one who denied him food and shelter.

Funny how everyone doesn't seem to mind the corporatists going anywhere in the world to do business, but if the workers follow them it's considered a sin. The corporatists are playing the workers against each other, by making them accept the low wages and no benefits or the corporatists will move to another country. It's a game, stacked against the workers. If the workers were allowed to freely move to where the jobs are, the corporatists wouldn't have as much leverage and the wages would have to go up.
That is what those that are railing against "illegal" immigration are doing. Siding with the corporatists. If the people that were here without permission were allowed here regardless, they would protest the conditions they are working under, which would help all workers.
It's a set up, put in place by the corporatists, so they can have their workers in fear. The people falling for the set up are helping it along, to their own detriment.
It's an old story, previously played against the Irish, Polish, Italians, Blacks and others, for the benefit of the wealthy. Get the workers fighting amongst themselves for the crumbs that are thrown down, and the wealthy can sit back and watch the fight while continuing their lifestyle of plenty.
Remember who it is that makes the laws. It sure isn't the workers!
