For the record
The NY Times says it is going to go down a path blogs have pioneered -- on-line access to primary documents of interest. The Smoking Gun, as noted, is particularly good at this. To a limited degree, we've tried here to produce full documents on matters of public interest that get short shrift in conventional news coverage. Internal e-mails among the LR School Board, for example, have shed some additional light on recent unhappy events there.
I take this opportunity to invite suggestions and contributions to the document record.

Yeah. Let's find out some more about this coal-fired power plant they're trying to foist on us.

I'm all for providing original documents - but as a convenience to readers, please use open formats like PDF.
If the original document was in, say, Microsoft Word format, it should be converted to PDF format for web hosting so that everyone can read it, not just Microsoft customers. Adobe Acrobat Reader is available as a free PDF document viewer for all major computing platforms.

And you can convert any document to pdf by using the free software PDF Redirect available on blue name. Go to File, Print and choose PDF Redirect. The pdf will open and you can save or print it.

Thanks to all the Gods!! A voice of reason.
Please save to PDF.
The average windows user has enough trouble just keeping his/her windows machine running and connected to that interweb thingy, let alone finding out why the .docx file they downloaded won't open in Office 2003.
BTW, Adobe's PDF reader is serious bloatware and is beyond crappy.
If you must use windows, try one of the alternative PDF readers like Foxit (google foxit software). Foxit is MUCH faster to use than anything from Adobe and is far more stable.
Foxit is one of many that are available, so if it does not suite your tastes just start googleing.
