Mike Ross spits on home rule

Gun nuttery helped U.S. Rep. Mike Ross get where he is today. So it shouldn't be surprising that he's poster boy for the NRA on its current congressional cause, getting Congress to override Washington, D.C.'s revised local gun control ordinance.

It's kind of pointless to have a handgun in your home for protection in certain parts of DC if it has to remain unlocked and unloaded until the threat of danger is present.

How quickly do you think you can find, get the key, unlock the gun and load it while your front door has been kicked in at 3 a.m. with a person armed with a similar weapon.

Didn't Wayne LaPierre come down to south Arkansas specifically to campaign against Mike Ross when he was running against Jay Dickey? And I think they both had identical NRA scorecards. From that I came to the conclusion that the NRA was more concerned with getting Republican's in office than protecting gun owner's rights.

Unloaded? Locked? It takes a charging adult only a second or so to cross a ten yard distance. Most people could not cock, aim and shoot a loaded semi-automatic pistol in that time. It is "REALLY STUPID" laws like this liberal bullshiite that makes it a very unsafe world to live in. Muslim fanatics want our lives, the Chinese are continually trying to poison our children with lead painted toys, etc., or at least they seem to be trying to make the children grow up sterile. The oil companies are raking in the profits while the Oil Emirates are growing ever so rich and we, the commonality of the once great US, only find ourselves deeper in debt. You know the home mortgage crisis was probably planned for failure in order to try to upset the value of America. The Mexicans want to take over the US and make us speak spanish. Then there are the liberals who will allow violent criminals to go unpunished for their crimes. If I were God, I would simply turn around and walk away from this foul rock. The atrocities humans reek upon one another is appalling. I am ashamed to be a part of this stench that humanity has become. Self defense is a right of that good ol' self preservation thing. With the violence there is in this world, I believe everyone should be allowed to carry any type of normal firearm they want. The death penalty should be used with a heavy hand for those who kill anyone in an act of crime, rape, or molest children, kidnappings and bank robbery. The only reason the liberal wussies want these lax laws is that they are the ones who commit the crimes.
