This goes to show that there are people genuinely interested in serving on this board, and the nominating process needs to be more open.

Now that Max, aided Barry and Kate, leaders of Two Citizens to Preserve Maumelle Watershed But Only the Way We Want It Preserved, have smeared Jane Dickey to get her off the Commission, it's strange that there has been NO REPORTING on this blog, or in the Dem Zette of the emails released to the public and press by Tom Rimmer at the last CAW meeting. One of the reasons for opposing Dickey was that she "voted against buying the DeHaven property at auction or kept Harvey from bidding at the auction". The emails show there was NEVER WAS A VOTE because St. Jim Harvey never put the issue before the commission. He merely thought that Rimmer would "discuss it with a couple of commissioners" in violation of the FOI to avoid setting the price in public!
Someone at the auction told me that he suggested to Harvey at the auction, just after DeHaven bought the property, that CAW could then condemn the property at the price DeHaven had just paid. What a great idea. Harvey never put that plan before the commission either. Ah yes, if only Barry and Kate could have got Jim on the commission. He could have continued this type of leadership.
ARK. BLOG: Legal Beagle, your contributions are welcome. Your accuracy leaves a little something to be desired. I posted those memos July 14.

PS -- The group formed to protect the Maumelle watershed numbers a good deal more than two. Without that broad support, Deltic never would have been beaten in 2005. Interesting point on the immediate condemnation. Do you think the commissioners had any obligation to suggest that, too?
