Ouch. Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Arkansas has a "roast and toast" banquet each year as a major fund-raiser. It's coming up Aug. 21.

Guess who's the guest of "honor"?

Lu Hardin.

Comments

Dang, the Toast andRoast has been one of their big fundraisers, I don't see the drawing power of Lu.

Houston Nutt, Noland, Frank or even Paul Eels pulls in the people but we don't have anyone in the state like that anymore. Good old Craig O'neal dragged them in but he has done it too often. Maybe he will still MC.

Anyone else get wind of this:

Lou Hardin announced today that Rush Week at UCA will be referred to as Rush Harding Week this year in honor of the UCA board Member.

Cartoon I saw last week was very funny and clever. It had monument in front of UCA campus with the L in Center of Learning crossed out to make it Center of Earning. Where was that? I forget. Dem-Gazette i think. But it was funny.

Fear not: There'll be a big crowd. By August 21, Lu's $300K "Don't evah leave us" bonus will be long forgotten. And, that's no joke.

Center of (L)earning. That is funny.

300K bonus? When I add it up, it's more like 400K. Where am I going wrong? 100k in hurry up fashion, and then 300K additional. Regardless, I'd not want him raising money for me.

The Mayor of Conway announced this morning that an Ultra-Marathon will be held in Conway this Fall and it is being called the Lu Hardin Ultra-Marathon in honor of Lu and the impact he has had on UCA of late.

It won't be easy though. It's no 10K. You better start training. It's a 300K.

how about donating that big illegal bonus to the boys and girls club; in exchange all will be forgotten.

for the MC:
In light of Lu's recent windfall, he is picking up the tab for this entire event.........
and tuition for the entire student body this semester..............
and the federal deficit!!!

Lu Hardin wasn't going to make it to this event until he heard he would be the center of attention.

durango is once again on target. The Center of Earning board can always use Janet Huckbee's bottom line ethics standard: "At least he's not in jail."

.

If you need some good jokes listen to Mike Huckabee. He's subbing for Paul Harvey on KARN today and tomorrow.

Why not invite the Gang of 4 to the roast. They just pissed away another $157,000 of taxpayer money to settle a frivolus lawsuit thier buddies filed against the district. Let's see is Mike Daughtery Dr. Daughtery this week or just plain Mike Daughtery. Once he was exposed for lying about his PHD did he have Dr. Mitchell quit calling him Dr. Daughtery. The money grab has got to stop. E-Stem will put these bozos to shame.

I'm not really a Huck fan, but credit where credit is due, he did a great job on The Paul Harvey Show.

if lu thinks this money thing is such an embarassment to the school, why doesn't he give it back?

UCA, The Center of (book) Learnin'

UCA-African-American-in-the-wood-pile college is just doing a little recruiting at Big Bro & Sis. Next Lu will be singing his signature song, I Fall to Pieces at the Hansen's Disease "Lend a Boy a Hand" dinner held in tiny Bonaparte, Arkansas. He'll speak on "How I brought the ethics and practices of the sub-prime lenders to the field of education in Arkansas."

Paul Harvey is 90 this year....Huckabee's filling in......it means the buzzards are circling.....What....Fox News isn't enough, Mikee?

Sorry but this is no joke. Read and think about it.
If we don't stand for our constitutional rights this could happen right here.

For all the anti-gun 'nay sayers' out there...

Excellent info !!

"During W.W.II the Japanese decided not to invade America

Hahahahahahahahahaaha.

Good one chasv. I luv it.

Chasv didn't write the above post...the syntax and spelling is almost perfect. I'm betting he copied something he found somewhere else.

Hey chasv, did you notice people were talking about something else? We all have our crazy relatives that send us stuff like your silly crap all of the time.

Hey chasv,

Did you hear about that new Commandment, the 11th one?

Thou shalt not post off-topic.

Opening song: "A Boy Named Lu!"

As to chasv's "stats," the email he copied from is O-L-D (2001) and is contextualized (and pretty much debunked) at Snopes.com: http://www.snopes.com/crime/statistics/ausguns.asp

Bottom line: Australians have NEVER had the right to bear arms guaranteed by law, their Constitution or convention...and the overwhelming majority didn't/don't...
