Adam doesn't come across very well in the garden, does he? He's passive, doesn't argue, does whatever anyone suggests, doesn't fight sin.

Maybe this attitude among what would be a major part of the Arkansas working class is what keeps Arkansas from getting any of the elite companies who promote people based on performance and results and not on whether they routinely wear pantyhose. You certainly can't ever expect to get a high level computer company research/marketing effort (HP isn't giving us the part that has the $100,000 + jobs). My son has worked for Microsoft ford over 10 years, most of his bosses at the Director and higher level were female. How would this be accepted in this little state?

I have to say, I've never wanted to be a man. Quite OK being a woman. Oh sure, if I were a guy and could pee outside without squatting, I'd go camping, which might make Mr. EY happier, but then I'd be a guy and he's not into that. I've done quite a bit of training in my career...should I have stepped aside and let the guys on my team do it instead? They're good people, but I actually have training in public speaking. I guess, being a girl and all, I shouldn't have taken it since we don't segregate genders in public. (Gee, who does that....? Oh yeah, those people the fundies say are out to get us.)

Might just paint my front door red and put one of those colored red lightbulb on the porch and sit out their naked every evening just to piss off every wife submitter and submitee in the neighborhood......

You may find them fun and helpful. You can set your VCR or dvd recorder to capture an entire series of instruction. Your woman will be proud of you too. She will admire your newly mastered use of the native language. With mastery over the language you will certainly be a better master over your household. Cleave to the language chasv.

We have to conclude that he possesses the original manuscripts and has compared all the other manuscripts with them so as to determine that nothing has been revised or rewritten. If he has the originals, he had to be there to get them from the original writers, which makes him older than Methuselah. And if he's seen the originals, he's the only human alive who ever has.

We also have it on his authority that most if not all translations were made from the Hebrew and greek [sic] writings. I guess "most" leaves room for the parts that were translated from the Aramaic and all of those that were made from the Latin translations. But he's certain of this because he was there and has examined all of the translations to document that conclusion.

Still, somehow I'm not really comfortable relying on the word of an "authority" who impugns the parentage of some group in Washington (those henpecked men of illegitimate birth), who punctuates his pontifications with profanity, and who doesn't have enough elemental Bible knowledge to be aware that the last book of the New Testament is NOT "Revelations."

Silverback, I've known a few Baptist men, and two in the biblical sense. I don't recall seeing very many, if any, who dared try to demand or even expect submission. I do remember a few times, sensing it might be good for his fragile ego, when I let my husband think he was an adonis and in charge of all things this little person couldn't possibly handle, and it worked like a charm. But most Baptist women I know, would lay awake at night thinking of ways for payback if their husbands uttered anyting this stupid and actually meant it. It was discussed in church, but nobody was anymore into that than would be into footwashing. Just stupid male ego nonsense.
